Former Bills WR Gabe Davis has reportedly agreed to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars when the new league year starts. Davis has long been the subject of debate between fantasy football managers and analysts, and that isn’t likely to change with his new landing spot with QB Trevor Lawrence and HC Doug Pederson.
Let’s examine the immediate implications and fantasy impact of Davis agreeing to terms with the Jaguars.

Gabe Davis Agrees to Deal With Jacksonville Jaguars
At this point in his career, we know who Gabriel Davis is as a wide receiver. He’s a field-stretching dynamo who can slice through zone coverage, but don’t expect him to garner a high-end target share or be a consistent week-in and week-out fantasy lineup option. Davis can have weeks where he wins you the week and others where he goose eggs and buries your team.
Davis should fill the same role with Jacksonville. In three of his four seasons, Davis has finished outside of the top 40 fantasy wide receivers (WR50, WR36, WR60, WR66). Davis has only surpassed a 15% target share once in his career (18.2%, 2022). While that’s a black eye, Davis has never finished outside the top 10 in aDOT (8th, 6th, 8th, 7th), having finished with a 15.0 or higher mark in three of four seasons.

Davis should be a good fit with Trevor Lawrence, who ranked sixth in deep ball passer rating and tied for the league lead in deep passing touchdowns last season (per Fantasy Points Data). Davis remains in the WR4/5 catalog with big-time weekly upside, and yes, he’s a “better best ball option than in a managed league.”
