Fantasy Basketball Trade Advice (Week 20)
Trade For
Dennis Schroder (BKN – PG)
The news of Ben Simmons‘ nerve impingement ending his season has left the Nets with a more permanent need for a point guard. Thankfully for them, Dennis Schroder has quickly taken advantage and assumed the lead facilitator role. The ex-Raptor is averaging 19.1 points, 6.7 assists and 2.6 rebounds on stellar shooting in his last seven outings.
Brooklyn had been longing for someone to operate the offense and Schroder has been more than solid in filling that need. Be aware Cam Thomas has been sidelined since February 26, so it’s unlikely Schroder will keep up this scoring output. Though, at worst, Schroder is the best distributor on a team full of strong three-point shooters with 20-point scoring upside.

Precious Achiuwa (NYK – PF, C)
It’s hard to pinpoint when — or even if — Precious Achiuwa fell out of favor with Tom Thibodeau. However, his minutes have tailed off since the beginning of February. In the last four games, Achiuwa has seen his minutes (112) resemble Jericho Sims‘ (99), which is interesting because Sims was a non-factor in New York’s rotation until late January. Isaiah Hartenstein, who recently returned from a short absence, floats around 22 minutes a night as well.
Achiuwa, despite the many injuries to other Knicks, finds himself in a three-way split for big man minutes. It’s certainly something to monitor if you roster him.

Naz Reid (MIN – C, PF)
The unfortunate injury to Karl-Anthony Towns leaves Minnesota with a huge hole in the offensive frontcourt. Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert are far from impressive players on the offensive end but Naz Reid has always been known for his capabilities there.
If Thursday night’s dramatic win over Indiana was any indication of how the Wolves’ pecking order has changed, Reid played the all-important second fiddle to Anthony Edwards. Reid posted 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists on 15 shot attempts, which placed him second on the team behind Edwards’ 35. The former LSU Tiger averages 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in games without Towns this season.

Trade Away
Jordan Poole (WAS – PG, SG)
If Jordan Poole’s numbers over his last 10 games were his season averages, there would be many different conversations had about him. The line over his last 10 at 21.2 points, 4.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds sounds better than 16.7, 3.7 and 2.5. Six of those 10 games saw Poole shoot over 45% from the field, which is five percentage points better than his clip on the year.
All this is to say this hot streak isn’t to be trusted as a promise of what’s to come down the stretch for Poole. Sell high on him if you can.
