Dynasty Rookie Draft Sleepers: Kendall Milton, Kimani Vidal, Javon Baker (2024 Fantasy Football)

The 2023 fantasy football season is over, which means one thing: It’s startup draft season for dynasty managers! Sure, you may be inclined to partake in a bit of responsible sports betting (head on over to BettingPros if you do), play fantasy baseball, or look ahead to the NFL Draft.

But let’s be honest with each other. The end of the fantasy football season is simply the start of the dynasty fantasy football season.

We asked several experts to name an early dynasty rookie draft sleeper in 2024. Here’s what they said.

Kendall Milton (RB)

“I just can’t seem to quit Georgia RB Kendall Milton. Milton and Dajun Edwards split time the last four years at Georgia. Neither back surpassed a 10% career college dominator rating having to sit behind future NFL running backs James Cook, Zamir White and Kenny McIntosh. Milton is the bigger of the two Georgia backs at 6-foot-1 1/2 and 225 pounds, while also posting vastly superior rushing statistics. He was sixth overall in yards after contact per attempt in the class (4.1) and 5th in yards per play (3.1). Milton’s not a burner – 4.62 40-yard dash – so keep that in mind as he goes into the next level. It’s all about the initial burst with Milton versus long speed. Case in point, his 10-yard split was tied for the fastest in the 2024 RB Draft Class at 1.51 seconds. His closest comparables per Mockdraftable.com from last season include Zach Charbonnet and Roschon Johnson.”

Kimani Vidal (RB)

“The wide receivers in this year’s rookie class are quickening the pulses of dynasty managers, but there are some potential gems at running back, too, and I’m going to be trying to land Kimani Vidal of Troy in the fourth round of all my rookie drafts. Vidal ran for 1,661 yards and 14 touchdowns last year, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. The 5-8, 213-pound Vidal is compactly built and hard to bring down unless you can square him up. Vidal has good vision and footwork, and his acceleration is better than advertised. Vidal turned in an excellent performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, extinguishing concerns about his speed by running a 4.47 in the 40-yard dash. His relative athletic score of 8.81 is in the top 13% of all running backs to have tested at the combine since 1987. Get wide receivers in the early rounds of your rookie drafts, and get Kimani Vidal late.”

Javon Baker (WR)

“The name you are searching for, the name at the tip of your tongue, the name that should easily and fervently flow from your mouth, is Javon Baker. Baker is a stud in waiting. He’s a well-rounded player with above-the-rim skills, nuanced route running, and strong hands (20th in contested catch rate last year). Baker is a triple-level threat that ranked eighth in yards per route run and 24th in PFF receiving grade (minimum 50 targets per PFF). Baker’s name won’t get the hype it deserves because of his good but not great testing numbers and the college that he hails from (Central Florida). Grab him in as many drafts as you can.”
