2024 NFL Draft Michigan Pro Day: Blake Corum, A.J. Barner, Kris Jenkins (Fantasy Football)

The 2024 NFL Combine has come and gone, and next up for prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class is their Pro Day. We’ll dive into notable players entering Pro Days as they try to improve their stock for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

2024 NFL Draft Outlook

A.J. Barner (TE – Michigan)

A big tight end who was asked to line up with his hand in the dirt and take on defensive ends in the run game consistently. In that capacity, shows competitiveness, toughness, technique and lower-body strength to get the job done. As a receiver, his overall usage was much more limited, functioning primarily as a safety valve who struggles to create separation against man coverage. A lack of dynamism in the passing game will probably cause him to slip into the middle rounds, however, his ability to consistently get dirty work done as a blocker should help him carve out a niche as a team’s second tight end at the pro level.

Blake Corum (RB – Michigan)

Easily one of the best pure runners in the class on tape, with an outstanding combination of consistency, intelligence, vision, patience, decisiveness, footwork, acceleration and toughness which allows him to rack up tons of yardage between the tackles. How teams evaluate his knee seems to be the key to his draft stock, especially because his yards-per-carry dropped somewhat this past season, but it would be surprising to see him fall out of the second day, as he has the skills to carve out a long, productive career in the pros.

Kris Jenkins (DL – Michigan)

A fascinating prospect who clearly has elite physical/athletic tools, and has made progress throughout his career with the Wolverines, with a rare combination of bulk, explosiveness, suddenness, balance, and strength. At this point, still needs to continue developing his recognition skills in the run game and diversifying his approach as a pass-rusher, but clearly has scheme-versatile traits and very high upside. Could potentially come off the board in the first round, and has the potential to develop into an every-down lineman in a variety of schemes. Would probably be best controlling blockers in a two-gap scheme.
