2024 NFL Draft Outlook
A traditional Alabama defensive lineman with a big, strong frame and the ability to hold the point of attack in the run game, but is also smoother than anticipated as a pass-rusher, allowing him to create the occasional pressure off the edge. Managed to come back from a season-ending neck injury and enjoy a breakout year in 2023, so he should be on the mid-round map for teams looking for gritty two-gap linemen. Would probably fit best as a five-technique on an odd front, but could potentially work inside or outside on four-man lines.

Was viewed as a potential first-round pick heading into the season and still has a enough rare combination of size and strength to end up there, but his case would have been stronger with a season at left tackle. At this point, looks more like a gap-scheme right tackle or possibly even guard, which would highlight his strengths in a phone booth and mask his lack of ideal lateral quickness to protect the edge in the passing game.

Jermaine Burton (WR – Alabama)
A legitimate deep threat whose speed created plenty of easy throws underneath the coverage. With a reliable pair of hands and impressive elusiveness and competitiveness after the catch, he can add a playmaking spark to a team, assuming they’re satisfied with how he responds to questions about his character. Sort of a difficult projection in that it’s possible he’ll be off some boards completely, while on others feel he could be viewed as a second-day pick.

A pretty well-rounded back who has a solid frame, makes smooth cuts and shows good competitiveness to fight for additional yardage and finish his runs. Athleticism is closer to adequate. Doesn’t have a ton of value on passing downs. Because of those limitations he profiles as more of a reserve/rotational back who can protect the football and provide some tough running as an early-down option in a backfield committee.
