It’s officially the offseason, which means we need to look at our dynasty fantasy football rosters and evaluate where things stand. I’m one of those people who’s always optimistic about my chances, as well as the players I roster. But at some point, you need to move on.
These are the players I’ve either been out on for a few months or am just done with now that 2023 has ended and teams are making moves heading into the offseason.

Dynasty Players To Give Up On
Jerry Jeudy (WR – DEN)
Believe it or not, Jerry Jeudy finished 2023 as the WR50 overall in PPR scoring and WR56 in points per game. Granted, he was drafted to do better than that, but I was surprised that he did that well with how badly everyone in the fantasy community was bashing him this year.
Jeudy played in 16 games, got 87 targets and scored two touchdowns working across from Courtland Sutton on a very up-and-down Russell Wilson-led team. If things turn around for this offense, Jeudy could see a boost, but honestly, I’m just done waiting for the breakout to come. I’m fine pivoting off of him for a player with more upside as we head into the offseason.
Darnell Mooney (WR – CHI)
If Darnell Mooney couldn’t break out this year, I’m not sure it’ll ever happen. Even with some messy quarterback play from Justin Fields, Mooney should have finished better than the WR83 on the year in PPR scoring. He caught the fewest passes with 31 and scored the fewest fantasy points at 78.9 of his career. He’d broken 100 PPR points in his previous three seasons, so this was disappointing.
The Bears are a team in transition. Whether they keep Fields or draft a new franchise QB, I think Mooney will be the odd man out as this team reimagines itself. They just clearly didn’t look his way, and he couldn’t make them. I’m done with him and will be much happier with him blowing up on someone else’s team than wasting a bench spot on my team any longer.
Pat Freiermuth (TE – PIT)
I know that Pat Friermuth was injured this year, but he still disappointed greatly in my eyes. He finished as TE29 overall since he only played in 12 games, but he was TE28 in points per game. The Steelers’ offense was downright terrible, but not using Freiermuth reliably was surprising. He only broke 10 PPR points twice. At tight end, that’s tough to weather.
We only care about those at the top of the tight end position or with the upside to get there. I had high hopes for Freiermuth as someone who could get there, but that’s pretty much gone now. Maybe Arthur Smith and a new offense can help him, but he has a long way to go from TE28 to something I’m confident in starting week after week. The odds are against it.
