Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft: Jayden Daniels, Jonathon Brooks, Trey Benson (2024)

With the 2023 fantasy football season wrapped up, all eyes are starting to shift toward the off-season. In dynasty leagues, that means 2024 dynasty rookie rankings and rookie mock drafts. With that in mind, here’s a quick look at an initial 12-team, 1QB league mock draft. These rankings are preliminary and are sure to change as more information becomes available. Here’s a look at my full two-round dynasty rookie mock draft. Below we dive into a few notable picks.

2024 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft: 12-team, 1 QB

Pick 1.10 – Jayden Daniels (QB – LSU)

While most people consider Caleb Williams the QB1 in this upcoming draft class, there’s a bit of a debate over who’s No. 2. Do you draft likely QB2 off the board Drake Maye or do you draft likely QB3 Jayden Daniels? While conventional wisdom says to take the higher-drafted player, fantasy football has its own rules. Assuming both quarterbacks are early first-round draft picks, Daniels’ rushing upside gives him a slight edge right now.

Pick 1.11 – Jonathon Brooks (RB – Texas)

It took until the end of Round One, but we’ve finally reached the running back portion of our program. With no clear-cut RB1 emerging yet, we might not have a clear grasp of these positional ranks until landing spots are finalized. For now, I’m going with Texas running back Jonathon Brooks as my RB1. Brooks was emerging as one of the best running backs in the nation before his early November ACL tear, so let’s hope progress is being shown before the NFL Draft.

Pick 1.12 – Trey Benson (RB – Florida State)

Rounding out the first round is Florida State running back Trey Benson. As I mentioned earlier, landing spots matter so much more for running backs than any other position, so these are preliminary positional rankings. In 2023, Benson showed improvement as a pass-catcher and could be one of the safest running back prospects in the class.
