Dynasty Rookie Draft Advice: Rome Odunze, J.J. McCarthy, Ray Davis (2024 Fantasy Football)

The fantasy football season has come to an end, but that doesn’t mean the NFL stops. It’s time to start getting excited for the 2024 NFL Draft. Dynasty fantasy football managers and redraft players alike can dive into the upcoming class of fantasy football rookies to prepare for the 2024 NFL season. We’ll take a look at players to know from the 2024 NFL Draft class.

Dynasty Rookie Draft Prospects

J.J. McCarthy (QB – Michigan)

A very advanced quarterback prospect who’s helped Michigan dominate college football over the past two years. He didn’t have to throw the ball as much as some of the other top prospects, but he was asked to work through progressions and make pro-style throws more often than most of his peers. Consequently, his learning curve at the pro level should be a bit gentler than even some of the more experienced passers in the class. Combination of fundamentals, patience, decision-making, velocity, and toughness should make him a first-round pick, probably as the third or fourth passer off the board on draft day.

Ray Davis (RB – Kentucky)

One of the most polished, pro-ready backs in the class, he has done it all at the college level, and should be able to step right into a running back rotation, or even potentially function as a feature back, given his frame, vision, strength, and passing-down experience. Age, tread, and the lack of elite speed and explosiveness may cause him to slip into the mid-rounds, but I’m relatively higher on him, and believe he could ultimately outperform some of the more heralded backs in the class.

Rome Odunze (WR – Washington)

A likely first-round pick who has established himself as one of the top wide receivers in college football, combining a big frame, solid speed, impressive flexibility, very good body control, and a highly-reliable pair of hands. Makes difficult fades and back-shoulder throws look easy, and should be a very difficult matchup in man coverage at the next level. Likely to be one of the first receivers off the board on draft day, even in a relatively deep class.
