With Super Bowl LVIII in the rearview mirror, all 32 teams have turned their attention to the offseason. While free agency will impact every team’s needs heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, it’s time for another mock draft.
Let’s dive into my second NFL mock draft of the year. This mock draft is a two-rounder and contains 10 hypothetical trades, including three in the first 10 picks.

2024 NFL Mock Draft with Trades
ROUND 1
1. Chicago Bears (via Carolina) – Caleb Williams (QB – USC)
While some Bear fans want the team to keep Justin Fields and trade the No. 1 overall pick for a historical haul, that seems unlikely at this point. Chicago resets the clock at the quarterback position and lands the guy many have compared to Patrick Mahomes.

2. Washington Commanders – Drake Maye (QB – UNC)
Commander fans would give their left arm to land Caleb Williams. However, that is unlikely to happen, barring a blockbuster trade. Instead, the team wisely keeps their surplus of draft picks and selects Maye with the No. 2 overall pick.

3. New England Patriots – Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR – Ohio State)
Reportedly, the Patriots could address their need at quarterback in free agency with a veteran, opting to use the No. 3 overall pick somewhere else. If New England does go that route, Harrison should be their slam-dunk pick.

Atlanta Falcons receive picks 4, 137. Arizona Cardinals receive picks 8, 43, 74, 2025 first-rounder.
4. Atlanta Falcons (via Cardinals) – Jayden Daniels (QB – LSU)
The Falcons miss out on Justin Fields in this mock draft (more on that later) and land their next franchise quarterback via a massive draft-day trade with the Cardinals. After seeing Marvin Harrison Jr. go No. 3 overall, Arizona pulls off a similar deal to the Will Anderson-Texans one in 2023 to secure multiple draft picks, including a first-rounder next year.

5. Los Angeles Chargers – Malik Nabers (WR – LSU)
Keenan Allen will likely return in 2024 on a restructured contract. The same can’t be said for Mike Williams. While the team should be optimistic that Quentin Johnston will rebound after a disappointing rookie season, they can’t pass up the chance to pair Nabers with Justin Herbert for the next decade.

Arizona Cardinals receive picks 6, 185. New York Giants receive picks 8, 71, 74.
6. Arizona Cardinals (via Giants) – Rome Odunze (WR – Washington)
Last year, the Cardinals traded down with the Houston Texans before moving right back up a few spots later to secure Paris Johnson Jr. Arizona missed out on Marvin Harrison Jr. but landed Odunze while adding a second-round pick in 2024 and a first-rounder in 2025.

7. Tennessee Titans – Joe Alt (OT – Notre Dame)
Tennessee has to go in one of two directions with this pick – wide receiver or offensive lineman. Will Levis will never succeed in the NFL if the team doesn’t help him out. With the three top-tier wide receivers off the board, the Titans pair Alt with 2023 first-round pick Peter Skoronski, which gives Levis an excellent left side of the offensive line.

8. New York Giants (via Cardinals, Falcons) – Taliese Fuaga (OT – Oregon State)
The Giants gave up the most sacks in the NFL in 2023, surrendering 20 more than any other team. While their offensive line dealt with injuries, their sack total is inexcusable. Evan Neal hasn’t panned out as many had hoped, forcing New York to explore using another top-10 pick at offensive tackle.

Las Vegas Raiders receive pick 9. Chicago Bears receive picks 9, 44, 2025 second-rounder.
9. Las Vegas Raiders (via Bears) – J.J. McCarthy (QB – Michigan)
Many won’t like this pick, but McCarthy’s draft stock is rising. There is a significant chance he gets pushed up draft boards and is a top-10 pick come April. The Raiders could land a veteran like Russell Wilson in free agency. However, don’t expect that to stop them from drafting the veteran’s replacement in the first round.

10. New York Jets – Olu Fashanu (OT – Penn State)
Aaron Rodgers recently turned 40 and is coming off a torn Achilles. The Jets’ offensive line is one of the worst in the NFL and must improve in the offseason. Unfortunately, New York doesn’t have a second-round pick because they need to double-dip on the offensive line early in the draft.

11. Minnesota Vikings – Dallas Turner (EDGE – Alabama)
Minnesota wants to re-sign Kirk Cousins this offseason despite coming off a torn Achilles at his age. More importantly, there isn’t a quarterback worthy of this draft pick still on the board. Therefore, the Vikings turn their attention to their top need on defense – pass rusher. Danielle Hunter, Marcus Davenport, and D.J. Wonnum are free agents next month.

12. Denver Broncos – Terrion Arnold (CB – Alabama)
While the Broncos haven’t closed the door on Russell Wilson returning in 2024, that seems unlikely, given how things ended last season. Unfortunately, there isn’t a quarterback on the board worthy of this draft pick, so the team addresses their top need on defense – cornerback. Patrick Surtain II is one of the best in the NFL. However, Denver’s other two starting cornerbacks will hit the open market in March.

13. Chicago Bears (via Raiders) – Jared Verse (EDGE – Florida State)
The fantasy football community would love to see the Bears pair Caleb Williams with a first-round wide receiver. However, the top three guys were off the board before Chicago picked No. 9 overall, leading to them trading back. Unfortunately, there isn’t a wide receiver worth the pick here. Instead, the Bears add Verse to pair with Montez Sweat, giving them a talented 1-2 punch at edge rusher.

14. New Orleans Saints – Brock Bowers (TE – Georgia)
Many will correctly argue that the Saints have bigger needs than at the tight end position. However, Bowers is too talented of a prospect to let slide any further. Taysom Hill is a gadget player, while Juwan Johnson is more of a big slot receiver than a traditional tight end. Pairing Bowers with Chris Olave will give Derek Carr two legitimate difference-makers in the passing game.

15. Indianapolis Colts – Byron Murphy II (DL – Texas)
Indianapolis’ offense was surprisingly solid in 2023 despite losing Anthony Richardson early in the season. However, their defense is in the middle of a rebuilding phase. Grover Steward is a free agent, while DeForest Buckner is in the final year of his contract and could get dealt this offseason. Murphy is a younger prospect but has massive upside. He could be the long-term replacement for Buckner in the middle of this defense.

16. Seattle Seahawks – Troy Fautanu (OL – Washington)
This past year, the Seahawks dealt with multiple injuries to their offensive line. The number of injuries was so high that the team had to sign 42-year-old Jason Peters to start games for them. Meanwhile, all three starting interior offensive linemen are free agents next month. Fautanu can play all positions, giving Seattle options along the offensive line.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars – Keon Coleman (WR – Florida State)
The Jaguars have to make a decision on Calvin Ridley this offseason. If they sign the wide receiver to a long-term deal, Jacksonville must send the Atlanta Falcons a second-round pick. However, they only send a third-round pick if Ridley doesn’t sign a long-term contract. Even if the veteran returns in 2024, the Jaguars should add to Trevor Lawrence‘s receiving core.

18. Cincinnati Bengals – JC Latham (OT – Alabama)
Reportedly, the Bengals will use the franchise tag on Tee Higgins this offseason, keeping the star receiver in Cincinnati. Therefore, the team’s top need is on the offensive line at right tackle. Jonah Williams is a free agent and likely won’t return. Latham could step in as a rookie and fill that void.

Philadelphia Eagles receive picks 19, 83. Los Angeles Rams receive picks 22, 53.
19. Philadelphia Eagles (via Rams) – Jackson Powers-Johnson (C – Oregon)
With Jason Kelce reportedly retiring, the Eagles have a hole at the center position for the first time in more than a decade. While they drafted Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens over the past three years, both college centers have found a home starting at guard. Powers-Johnson had an impressive Senior Bowl week and should be a first-round pick. Philadelphia trades up ahead of two offensive line-needy teams to secure the former Duck center.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers – Amarius Mims (OR – Georgia)
Pittsburgh recently released three players, including offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor. The team used their 2023 first-round pick on Mims’ former college teammate – Broderick Jones. With Dan Moore Jr. in the final year of his rookie contract and his inconsistent play, the Steelers should reunite former Bulldog teammates to protect whoever is playing quarterback.

21. Miami Dolphins – Xavier Worthy (WR – Texas)
Worthy is expected to run the fastest 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, and the Dolphins love speed. Meanwhile, Tyreek Hill turns 30 in March and says he will retire after the 2025 season. More importantly, Miami lacks depth at wide receiver, while Hill and Jaylen Waddle struggled with injuries in 2023. Worthy might be labeled a luxury pick until one of the star wide receivers misses significant time.

22. Los Angeles Rams (via Eagles) – Cooper DeJean (CB – Iowa)
The Rams have hit on several Day 3 picks over the past few years. However, this pick will be the team’s first first-round draft pick since Jared Goff in 2016. Los Angeles needs help in the secondary, as both starting safeties and a cornerback are set to hit the open market next month. DeJean can play multiple spots in the secondary, giving new defensive coordinator Chris Shula options.

23. Houston Texans (via Cleveland) – Laiatu Latu (EDGE – UCLA)
Last year, the Texans had a home run draft class. C.J. Stroud and Tank Dell were stars as rookies, while Will Anderson Jr. won the Defensive Rookie of the Year award. Meanwhile, Jonathan Greenard had a career-high 12.5 sacks opposite the rookie but is a free agent in March. Even if the veteran returns, Houston should add a young pass rusher to pair with Anderson for the next several years.

24. Dallas Cowboys – Tyler Guyton (OT – Oklahoma)
While Jerry Jones likely will want to draft a wide receiver with this pick, the Cowboys have a massive need on the offensive line. Tyron Smith recently turned 33, has struggled with injuries over the past few years, and is a free agent next month. Even if the future Hall of Famer returns in 2024, Terence Steele was one of the worst right tackles in football in 2023.

25. Green Bay Packers – Kamren Kinchens (S – Miami)
Packer fans should be excited about the team’s future. They have their franchise quarterback and an excellent set of young weapons. However, Green Bay’s defense needs help, especially in the secondary. Three of the team’s top safeties, including both starters, are free agents in March.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Brian Thomas Jr. (WR – LSU)
Mike Evans is a free agent this offseason. The two sides had unproductive talks before the start of the 2023 season, ending with the veteran wide receiver saying he was playing his final year in Tampa Bay. Regardless of whether or not Evans returns in 2024, he is on the wrong side of 30, and the team needs to add youth to the wide receiver room.

27. Arizona Cardinals (via Houston) – Nate Wiggins (CB – Clemson)
Ideally, the Cardinals would like to draft an offensive tackle with this pick after securing Rome Odunze with their earlier first-round selection. However, Wiggins can’t slide any further as Arizona lacks a No. 1 caliber cornerback. With Puka Nacua, DK Metcalf and Brandon Aiyuk in the division, the Cardinals must find someone to match up against those star receivers.

28. Buffalo Bills – Troy Franklin (WR – Oregon)
The Bills have some decisions to make at the wide receiver position in the offseason. Gabe Davis is a free agent and will likely find a more appealing offer on the open market. More importantly, Stefon Diggs recently turned 30 and has shown signs of decline. Furthermore, his future in Buffalo is up in the air. The Bills must add a wide receiver early in the 2024 NFL Draft.

29. Detroit Lions – Quinyon Mitchell (CB – Toledo)
Unfortunately, the Lions fell one-half short of reaching the Super Bowl. Their offense was outstanding in 2023, and they will have Ben Johnson back next year. However, the defense severely struggled, especially in the secondary. Mitchell can step in as a rookie and take over a starting cornerback spot.

Los Angeles Rams receive pick 30. Baltimore Ravens receive picks 52, 53, 153.
30. Los Angeles Rams (via Ravens) – Bo Nix (QB – Oregon)
I would bet you that the betting market sets the over/under for the number of first-round quarterbacks at 4.5, with the over being the favorite. We know four quarterbacks will come off the board on Thursday night, but Nix should sneak into the final handful of picks. The Rams have a young team built for the future. However, Matthew Stafford‘s days in the NFL are numbered. Nix can spend a year learning behind Stafford before taking over in 2025.

31. San Francisco 49ers – Darius Robinson (EDGE – Missouri)
San Francisco has always valued their depth and talent along the defensive line since Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch took over. Unfortunately, they have six defensive linemen set to hit the open market next month, including Chase Young. Robinson had an impressive Senior Bowl week and can play multiple spots along the defensive line, making him especially appealing for the 49ers.

32. Kansas City Chiefs – Jer’Zhan Newton (DL – Illinois)
While Chris Jones loudly announced that he would return in 2024 during the team’s Super Bowl parade, that’s not a guarantee. The superstar will be 30 years old when next season starts and will demand a contract paying him at least $30 million a year. Even if Jones signs a long-term deal with the Chiefs, the team has two other defensive tackles set to hit the open market, including starting Derrick Nnadi.

ROUND 2
33. Carolina Panthers – Ladd McConkey (WR – Georgia)
The Panthers quickly need to get their offense fixed if Bryce Young will succeed in Carolina. Their best wide receiver this past season was Adam Thielen at 33 years old. McConkey consistently got open during the Senior Bowl week. That ability is exactly what Young needs, as he held onto the ball too long waiting for someone to get open as a rookie.

34. New England Patriots – Jordan Morgan (OT – Arizona)
Unfortunately, Bo Nix didn’t slide into the second round of this mock draft, forcing the Patriots to go elsewhere with this pick. Whoever is throwing the ball to Marvin Harrison Jr. will need time in the pocket. Yet, that might be a problem with both starting offensive tackles and the top backup set to hit the open market next month.

35. Arizona Cardinals – Kris Jenkins (DL – Michigan)
After spending both first-round draft picks helping out Kyler Murray, the Cardinals turn their attention to the defense. Arizona has several defensive linemen set to be free agents in March, including multiple starters. Jenkins could be a late first-round pick, making him a value early in the second round.

Tennessee Titans receive picks 36, 181. Washington Commanders receive picks 38, 107.
36. Tennessee Titans (via Commanders) – Kool-Aid McKinstry (CB – Alabama)
While the Titans need help at wide receiver, their cornerback unit has been awful for several years. Tennessee jumps ahead of Los Angeles to secure the last cornerback with a potential first-round grade by flipping mid-round picks with Washington. With C.J. Stroud, Trevor Lawrence and Anthony Richardson in the division, the Titans can’t ignore their problem in the secondary any longer.

37. Los Angeles Chargers – Graham Barton (OL – Duke)
With the Titans jumping ahead of them for McKinstry, the Chargers turn their attention to the offensive line. Justin Herbert has struggled to stay healthy in back-to-back years. The best thing the team can do for their newly paid superstar quarterback is to improve his receiving core and protection – the two things they’ve done so far in this mock draft.

38. Washington Commanders (via Titans) – Adonai Mitchell (WR – Texas)
The Commanders don’t have a massive need at the wide receiver position. Yet, it never hurts to give your rookie quarterbacks as many weapons as possible. Furthermore, Curtis Samuel is one of three Washington wide receivers set to hit the open market next month.

39. New York Giants – Ennis Rakestraw Jr. (CB – Missouri)
Unfortunately, the Commanders sniped their NFC East division rivals for the last borderline first-round graded wide receiver. The Giants turn their attention to their secondary. This past year, New York spent a pair of draft picks at the cornerback position, including Deonte Banks in the first round. However, they still need help in the secondary, especially with Adoree Jackson being an upcoming free agent.

40. Washington Commanders (via Chicago) – Bralen Trice (EDGE – Washington)
Washington traded away Montez Sweat at the trade deadline for this pick. Despite spending half the year in Chicago, Sweat still led the Commanders in sacks this past season. It’s only fitting that the team uses the pick from that trade to replace their former pass rusher.

41. Green Bay Packers (via New York) – Kamari Lassiter (CB – Georgia)
Even after using their first-round pick on Kamren Kinchens, the Packers still need help in the secondary. Keisean Nixon is a free agent, while Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes‘ long-term future in Green Bay is in question.

42. Minnesota Vikings – Cooper Beebe (OL – Kansas State)
The Vikings have vastly improved their offensive line over the past several years, using a first or second-round pick on a lineman in four of the past six drafts. The team has several offensive linemen set to be free agents in March, including their starting left guard.

43. Arizona Cardinals (via Falcons) – Kingsley Suamataia (OT – BYU)
Cardinals fans have to love seeing their team make four selections inside the top 43 picks. After improving their defensive line with their earlier second-round pick, Arizona turns back to the offensive side of the ball. D.J. Humphries suffered a torn ACL late in the year. Furthermore, he could be a salary cap casualty this offseason.

44. Chicago Bears (via Raiders) – Xavier Legette (WR – South Carolina)
After going in other directions with their two first-round picks, the Bears finally add a wide receiver. Caleb Williams didn’t have elite weapons at USC, but Chicago doesn’t want that to be the case in the NFL. While Legette doesn’t have the big-name appeal of Marvin Harrison Jr., the former South Carolina star should fit in well as the No. 2 guy opposite DJ Moore.

45. New Orleans Saints (via Denver) – Patrick Paul (OT – Houston)
New Orleans passed on an offensive tackle in the first round for Brock Bowers. However, they can’t pass on an offensive tackle again in the second round. Trevor Penning hasn’t worked out as a first-round pick from a few years ago, while Ryan Ramczyk‘s long-term health is in question.

46. Indianapolis Colts – T.J. Tampa (CB – Iowa State)
The Colts had a youth movement on defense in 2023 after they got rid of several veteran players. One of those players was Stephon Gilmore, who the Colts replaced with second-round pick Julius Brents. While the former Kansas State star had a solid rookie season, Indianapolis needs more help at cornerback.

47. New York Giants (via Seattle) – Tez Walker (WR – UNC)
The Giants finally add a wide receiver in this mock draft. Walker had some disappointing moments at the Senior Bowl but still should be a second-round pick. The former UNC star would step in as a rookie pairing with former Day 2 picks Wan’Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt in New York.

48. Jacksonville Jaguars – Chris Braswell (EDGE – Alabama)
This draft pick will go to the Atlanta Falcons if Calvin Ridley signs a long-term deal with the Jaguars. However, he doesn’t sign a long-term contract in this mock draft, meaning the pick stays with Jacksonville. While the team is expected to keep Josh Allen this offseason, the Jaguars lack pass rusher depth behind their two starters. They must improve their depth in a division loaded with talented quarterbacks.

49. Cincinnati Bengals – Ja’Tavion Sanders (TE – Texas)
No offense to the combination of Irv Smith Jr., Tanner Hudson, Drew Sample, and Mitchell Wilcox, but the Bengals’ tight end unit is arguably the worst in the NFL. Joe Burrow can never have too many weapons, and giving him the clear-cut No. 2 tight end in the draft class is a move everyone in the fantasy football community wants to see.

Buffalo Bills receive pick 50. Philadelphia Eagles receive picks 60, 99, 206.
50. Buffalo Bills (via Eagles, New Orleans) – T’Vondre Sweat (DL – Texas)
Ed Oliver is one of the better pass-rushing defensive tackles in the NFL, totaling a career-high 9.5 sacks last season. However, the Bills have no other defensive tackle on the roster under contract for 2024. Sweat was the top defensive tackle in college football last season and would give Buffalo a top-tier run defense as a rookie.

Chicago Bears receive pick 51, conditional 2025 second-rounder. Pittsburgh Steelers receive Justin Fields.
51. Chicago Bears (via Steelers) – Tyler Nubin (S – Minnesota)
While the Atlanta Falcons were viewed by many as the favorites to land Fields, the betting market has the Steelers as the most likely trading spot for the quarterback. Mike Tomlin is a massive fan of the former Ohio State star and won’t commit to Kenny Pickett in 2024. The conditional 2025 pick would be based on how Fields performs next season.
Meanwhile, the Bears had an excellent defense in the second half of the year after they acquired Montez Sweat. However, the team recently released Eddie Jackson, saving them over $12.5 million in salary cap space. Nubin could step in as a rookie and replace the long-time veteran.

52. Baltimore Ravens (via Rams) – Chop Robinson (EDGE – Penn State)
Following their first-round trade with the Los Angeles Rams, the Ravens are on the clock with the first of three picks in this mock draft. The team had an elite defense in 2023 but has several starters set to hit the open market, including Jadeveon Clowney and Kyle Van Noy. Robinson could be a late first-round pick, making him a steal at this point in the draft.

53. Baltimore Ravens (via Rams, Eagles) – Leonard Taylor III (DL – Miami)
With back-to-back picks, Baltimore can build up the front seven of their defense. Justin Madubuike had a career year in 2023 with 13 sacks, the ninth-most in the NFL. However, he and Brent Urban are free agents, leaving the Ravens with limited depth up front.

54. Cleveland Browns – Edgerrin Cooper (LB – Texas A&M)
Unfortunately, the Browns won’t have a first-round pick for the third consecutive year because of the Deshaun Watson trade. Cleveland had an impressive defense last season but struggled with injuries, especially at the linebacker position. More importantly, the team has five linebackers set to hit the open market next month, including multiple starters.

55. Miami Dolphins – Zak Zinter (G – Michigan)
Miami passed on an offensive lineman with their first-round pick to add more speed to their receiving core. All three starting interior offensive linemen are free agents this offseason, with multiple backup offensive linemen also set to hit the open market. Zinter suffered a broken tibia and fibula late in the season but should be ready for training camp.

56. Dallas Cowboys – Kalen King (CB – Penn State)
The Cowboys have multiple talented cornerbacks. Trevon Diggs is one of the top young cornerbacks in the NFL, while DaRon Bland turned into a pick-six star in 2023. However, Stephon Gilmore and Jourdan Lewis are free agents in March. One or both likely won’t return next season.

57. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Calen Bullock (S – USC)
While almost every mock draft has Tampa Bay penciled in for a first-round wide receiver, the team has multiple holes on defense. First on the list is the safety position, where starters Antoine Winfield Jr. and Ryan Neal and backup Dee Delaney are free agents next month. If the team loses Winfield in free agency, safety becomes the top need for the Buccaneers.

58. Green Bay Packers – Christian Haynes (OG – UConn)
Many mock drafts will give the Packers a first or second-round offensive tackle with David Bakhtiari‘s declining health. However, Green Bay really likes Rasheed Walker at left tackle. Jon Runyan is a free agent at right guard, though, and the team’s depth at guard is thin. Haynes had a strong Senior Bowl performance and could be a top-50 pick.

59. Los Angeles Chargers (via Texans) – Blake Corum (RB – Michigan)
Austin Ekeler is a free agent this offseason. While Jim Harbaugh has talked about bringing the veteran running back for 2024, that seems unlikely given the team’s salary cap situation. Instead, the former Michigan coach trades up ahead of running back-needy teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens to secure his former star player.

60. Philadelphia Eagles (via Bills) – Jeremiah Trotter Jr. (LB – Clemson)
Nakobe Dean has struggled to stay healthy during his two seasons in the NFL and the Eagles used several older linebackers as patchwork replacements in 2023. While Philadelphia hasn’t prioritized linebackers in the past, they need to add one early in the draft.

61. Detroit Lions – Adisa Isaac (EDGE – Penn State)
The Lions have one of the top young pass rushers in the NFL. Aidan Hutchinson had 11.5 sacks and 33 quarterback hits, ranking in the top 12 in both categories. However, Detroit didn’t have anyone else total more than five sacks and 12 quarterback hits. If this defense is going to take the next step, Hutchinson will need some help up front.

62) Baltimore Ravens – Jonathon Brooks (RB – Texas)
Baltimore has a history of taking players coming off significant injuries during the NFL Draft. Brooks suffered a torn ACL at Texas but should be ready for Week 1. With J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards heading towards free agency, the former Longhorn could start as a rookie and finally end the merry-go-round in the team’s backfield.

63. San Francisco 49ers – Ja’Lynn Polk (WR – Washington)
While the 49ers arguably have the best 1-2 punch at wide receiver, that could change in the near future. Brandon Aiyuk is entering the final year of his rookie deal, while Deebo Samuel‘s contract expires after the 2025 season. The team will have to pick one over the other within the next year or so. Therefore, adding to their receiver core is needed.

64. Seattle Seahawks (via Chiefs) – Michael Penix Jr. (QB – Washington)
Let’s end the mock draft with a bang. The Seahawks will have Geno Smith on the roster in 2024, but he isn’t the long-term answer. Penix’s medical concerns will take him off some teams’ draft board. However, Seattle recently hired former Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb for the same position, making Penix an ideal fit for the Seahawks. With several potential teams potentially eyeing the former Washington start early in the third round, Seattle trades up to secure the quarterback.
