Thursday’s NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions: DeMar DeRozan, Domantas Sabonis, RJ Barrett (1/18)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (1/18)

DeMar DeRozan (G/F – CHI): 20.5 points

DeRozan scored 33 his last time in Toronto and should be good for at least the 21 needed for the More to hit. DeRozan has averaged 22 points against his original team over his career and will look to fill up the stat sheet against a Raptors team playing on the second half of a back-to-back. Toronto has surrendered 23.56 points to the power forward position this season. DeRozan should be fine at the four tonight, as the Raptors will likely be starting Barnes there again. Dap the More on DeMar for Thursday night.

Pick: More

Domantas Sabonis (C – SAC): 0.5 double doubles

The NBA’s double double King continues to roll for Sacramento, recording a double double in 36 of his 40 games played. He has recorded a triple double in six of his last nine games, putting him at 11 for the season (Nikola Jokic leads the league with 12). Tonight, he will face off against a new-look Indiana Pacers team that stole Pascal Siakam for a pittance. Indiana has surrendered 13.65 rebounds per game to the center position, making this an exploitable matchup despite the fact that 13.65 is actually one of the top numbers in the NBA. Lock this one in as soon as possible, as the multiplier is low enough that this line could expire before game time. Dap the More on Domantas for Thursday night’s action.

Pick: More

RJ Barrett (G/F – TOR): 20.5 points

RJ has been excellent since joining the Toronto Raptors, averaging 20.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. His average jumps to 22.6 points per game if we disregard the disaster in Utah. RJ has scored 23 or more points in five of his last six games and has an excellent chance to hit at least the 21 points required for this total against a Chicago Bulls team relinquishing 22.02 points per game to the shooting guard position. Rap the More on RJ for Thursday night.

Pick: More

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
