NFL DFS GPP Lineup Advice & Picks (Wild Card Round)

NFL DFS GPP Lineup Advice & Picks (Wild Card Round)

It was a fun regular season, but we’re finally getting into elimination games! There’s nothing quite like the NFL Playoffs, and I can’t wait to break it down from a DFS standpoint. It’s really pleasant to have reliable statistics to look at because that Week 18 card was infuriating. With that said, let’s look at the Wild Card Round from a DFS perspective!

The players below are the ones I’m looking at for GPP considerations for Wild Card Weekend.

NFL Wild Card DFS GPP Lineup Advice & Picks

Quarterbacks

DraftKings

Jared Goff (QB – DET): $6,200 vs. LAR

There haven’t been many quarterbacks better at home since Goff joined the Lions. In 17 home games since the start of last season, Goff is averaging over 21 DraftKings points per game. That’s a terrific total from a $6,200 player, and you know he’ll be motivated against the team that traded him in this must-win matchup. It’s not like LA has a scary defense either, allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this year.

FanDuel

Baker Mayfield (QB – TB): $7,200 vs. PHI

We’ve had Baker in the GPP section throughout the second half of the season, and he’s still undervalued. This Cleveland cast-off carried Tampa in the second half, scoring at least 18 FanDuel points in four of his final five games. That wasn’t far off of his season average, and he should have his way with this putrid Philly defense. The Eagles are allowing the second-most passing yards in the NFL.

Running Backs

DraftKings

Aaron Jones (RB – GB): $6,300 at DAL

It was a disappointing season for Jones, but he really found his stride in the final weeks of the year. Jones scored at least 17 DraftKings points in his final three weeks, rushing for at least 111 yards in all of those. That’s scary since he’s been one of the best pass-catching backs throughout his career, and we expect Green Bay to feed him in a must-win game. We didn’t even mention that AJ Dillon is beat up.

FanDuel

Jerome Ford (RB – CLE): $7,000 at HOU

We had to scroll way too far down to find Ford, which is hard to understand with how he’s played in the absence of Nick Chubb. The stud running back had 25 FanDuel points just two weeks ago and had at least 8.8 FD points in 12 of the 15 games he filled in for Chubb. Those numbers are tough to overlook against the Texans, posting a 26th OPRK against opposing rushers.

Wide Receivers

DraftKings

Stefon Diggs (WR – BUF): $7,400 vs. PIT

Diggs is the perfect GPP option because nobody will want to use him. We’re willing to take the risk, though, because $7,400 is too cheap for a guy this talented. Diggs has still been a top-5 receiver over the past three years and should be fed in this playoff game. He still averaged 17 DK points per game despite a terrible final month, and we don’t mind that Pittsburgh posts a 17th OPRK against opposing wideouts. When he played Pittsburgh this past season, Diggs had eight receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown.

FanDuel

Chris Godwin (WR – TB): $6,900 vs. PHI

Godwin had an inconsistent season, but he played much better over the final month of the year. CG had 45 total targets over his last five fixtures, averaging 14 FanDuel points per game over his final four outings. That’s all you can ask for from a sub-$7K player, especially since Godwin has been closer to $8,000 for most of his career. Philly is a fantastic matchup, too, surrendering the second-most passing yards in the NFL.

Tight Ends

DraftKings

Dalton Schultz (TE – HOU): $4,400 vs. CLE

Most people will pivot to Travis Kelce, but Schultz is a great GPP option. He established himself as one of the top pass-catchers once Tank Dell went down, scoring at least 9.2 DK points in nine of the final 11 games he finished. He also had double-digit targets in three of those and should never be $4,400 with that sort of upside. Cleveland is a concerning matchup, but Houston will likely have to throw as an underdog in this game.

FanDuel

Dallas Goedert (TE – PHI): $6,200 at TB

Goedert will be overlooked on this slate, but he shouldn’t be. The main reason we love him is this terrific matchup with Tampa, surrendering the fourth-most receiving yards in the NFL. That’s already good news for Goedert, but AJ Brown being nicked up only adds to his value. They also allowed the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends, and we love that DG had at least 11 FD points in two of his final three games.

Defense/Special Teams

DraftKings

Kansas City Chiefs D/ST: $2,900 vs. MIA

Not many people are going to use KC against this stout Miami offense, but the Chiefs defense is no joke. They rank second in both points allowed and yardage surrendered this season. That’s bad news with the way Miami has been playing recently, scoring 22 or fewer points in three consecutive outings. That’s why the Chiefs are a 3.5-point home favorite in a game with a 44-point total. No D/ST should be below $3,000 in that type of opportunity.

FanDuel

Pittsburgh Steelers D/ST: $3,000 at BUF

This is insanely risky, but the cheapest D/ST is an interesting GPP option this week. While the Bills have one of the best offenses in the NFL, Josh Allen led the AFC in interceptions. That’s terrifying against this underrated defense, with the Steelers ranked fifth in fantasy points among D/STs on this slate. A few sacks and multiple turnovers are definitely in play against a volatile quarterback like Allen, making Pittsburgh an enticing option at just $3K in what’s projected to be the lowest-scoring game of the weekend.
