Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (1/26)
Gary Trent Jr. (G/F – TOR): 12.5 points
Trent Jr. should have the green light tonight. The Raptors are down two starters (three if you count the Pascal Siakam trade) in Immanuel Quickley and Jakob Poeltl. Bruce Brown should join the starting lineup with IQ sidelined, which means Trent should see 30+ minutes. Trent has scored 14 or more points in every game in which he’s played 30 or more minutes this season. This number could rise by tipoff, so lock this one in sooner rather than later. Tap the More on Trent for Friday night.
Pick: More
Alperen Sengun (C – HOU): 23.5 points
Sengun continues to exceed expectations this season, averaging 22.1 points per game to go with 9.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. He has been even better as a scorer in 2024, averaging 24.5 points per game. Tonight, he’ll face off against a Hornets team surrendering a league-high 27.20 points per game to the center position. Sengun has racked up 24 or more points in 11 of his last 17 games played. Slap the More on Sengun for Friday night.
Pick: More
Scottie Barnes (G/F – TOR): 6.5 assists
Barnes should be locked into more of a point forward role with Immanuel Quickley set to be sidelined for Friday night. Scottie has recorded seven or more assists in three of his last four games. He dropped six dimes on the Clippers earlier this month, and down IQ, he should hit at least seven tonight with relative ease, provided that his teammates can connect on their shots at a respectable clip. Bump the More on Barnes for Friday night.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
