Dynasty Trade Advice: Tyler Lockett, Cade Otton, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Justin Fields (Fantasy Football)

We have finally reached the offseason, and we all know the rule in dynasty: it never sleeps. With that in mind, let’s look into trade targets to keep an eye on or even start the discussion with your managers to obtain via trade. Making the correct trades could help you flourish in the future. Let’s discuss some players you should target right now this offseason.

2024 Dynasty Trade Targets

Tyler Lockett (WR – SEA)

There is a strong chance the Seattle Seahawks will move on from Tyler Lockett — there is a potential out in his contract for 2024. The Seattle Seahawks also drafted Jaxon Smith-Njigba last season to eventually usurp the WR2 role in Seattle. If/when this happens, Lockett will be coveted around the NFL. Over a dozen teams could use his talents but the top one is the Los Angeles Chargers, if Pete Carroll lands there. We could also see him in Chicago with his old coordinator (Shane Waldron) who now works in the Windy City. Finally, one of my favorite spots to see Lockett play in 2024 would be Atlanta, but only if they end up with Russell Wilson. Tyler Lockett is a bit scary to trade for because of his age but the beauty of that issue is we don’t have to offer much to receive him.

Cade Otton (TE – TB)

Cade Otton is like that lamp in the corner of the room. You never genuinely notice it’s there but it always works when you need it to and it ties the place together nicely. Cade Otton finished the year with at least six targets in his last three games. With Baker Mayfield more than likely under center again, he should be the fourth option in the offense behind Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Rachaad White. Cade Otton is not a stud tight end like Sam LaPorta. However, he is a steady piece you can trust and will not goose-egg you in your lineups — more than you can say about half of the tight-end landscape.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB – KC)

Honestly, people should pay you to take Clyde Edwards-Helaire off their roster, but that’s good for us. The Chiefs back is set to become a free agent and although he should be a complimentary piece, a fresh start with his first-round draft status attached to him will be good for the dynasty soul. We could trade for him cheaply and hope for a stellar landing spot to help elevate Edwards-Helaire into something usable or increase his trade value. Top landing spots include the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans or the Minnesota Vikings.

Justin Fields (QB – CHI)

This trade will cost a pretty penny but you may catch managers panicking about the future of Justin Fields. His future is in the air, of course, but as a fantasy football player, we know what he can provide for our team. Is there a possibility he will play only 1-2 more years? Sure. However, if you are playing dynasty for three years down the road, you are misplaying the game. Let’s win and let’s win now. Fields could stay in Chicago, but since this is unlikely, he has a few options that could be exciting for his dynasty stock. Our favorite teams for him to land with are the Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons.
