With the 2023 fantasy football season wrapped up, all eyes are starting to shift toward the off-season. In dynasty leagues, that means 2024 dynasty rookie rankings and rookie mock drafts. With that in mind, here’s a quick look at an initial 12-team, 1QB league mock draft. These rankings are preliminary and are sure to change as more information becomes available. Here’s a look at my full two-round dynasty rookie mock draft. Below we dive into a few notable picks.
2024 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft: 12-team, 1 QB
Pick 1.07 – Caleb Williams (QB – USC)
We’ve already mentioned a couple of “generational talents” at wide receiver and tight end, so we might as well get to the QB version. Despite some questionable play at times this season, USC quarterback Caleb Williams remains the overwhelming favorite to get selected No. 1 overall by the Chicago Bears (or someone else) in the 2024 NFL Draft. It’s hard to gauge where Williams goes in 1QB drafts, but this seems like a sweet spot between the Tier Two wide receivers.
Pick 1.08 – Troy Franklin (WR – Oregon)
If you thought the BMI debates were settled after DeVonta Smith, I’ve got some bad news for you. Oregon wide receiver Troy Franklin (6’3″, 187 pounds) is sure to cause just as much uproar in the fantasy football community this off-season. Looking past his weight, Franklin has good height, speed, and an underrated ability to make people miss in the open field.
Pick 1.09 – Xavier Worthy (WR – Texas)
His weight (172 pounds) and inconsistent hands are a concern, but Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy has a rare skillset that cannot be taught. He has speed and lots of it. Worthy’s acceleration is rare and he should turn quite a few heads at the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine. If he works through the drops, Worthy’s ceiling is limitless.
