Dynasty Rookie Draft Prospects

Ja’Tavion Sanders (TE – Texas)

A smooth, versatile tight end who seemed underutilized in the passing game this past year, often being used as a decoy or retained in pass protection, but who has some natural receiving skills. His ability to line up all over the formation, execute a wide variety of different blocks, and provide quarterbacks with clean route running and a reliable pair of hands could make him a pretty well-rounded starter at the next level. Looks like a second-day selection.

Luke Lachey (TE – Iowa)

As we saw with Luke Musgrave last season (who incidentally has the same listed size), teams are willing to overlook injuries to draft a big, athletic tight end who can threaten the seams, which bodes well for Lachey. He’s not necessarily a finesse player, but offers the athleticism and natural receiving skills to work the intermediate level, and who competes as an inline run blocker. Assuming his ankle passes pre-draft medicals, teams may feel like they have a starter on their hands, especially if he continues to add functional strength.

Jaheim Bell (TE – Florida State)

Has taken around half of his snaps from the slot or split out wide this year, and, despite his size, shows the smooth movement skills and flexibility to gain separation and function as a big receiver. Could use a bit more nastiness as a blocker, but has adequate form and has shown the ability to line up as a tight end or H-Back and execute some different assignments there as well. Was able to recover some of his 2021 form this year and could end up coming off the board in the mid rounds.
