Top 10 Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 16 (2023 Fantasy Football)

As we head into Week 16 of the fantasy football season, it’s crucial to make the right moves on the waiver wire. This week, several players stand out as potential game-changers for your fantasy team. Tera Roberts recently provided her breakdown of the top 10 waiver wire pickups for Week 16.

Top 10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 16

Trey Sermon (RB – IND) & Tyler Goodson (RB – IND)

  • Overview: Serman is a strong add due to his potential in the backfield, especially with less than 40% rostering.
  • Potential: Goodson is another under-rostered backfield asset to consider. His role could be significant depending on team dynamics and upcoming matchups.
  • Caution: Be cautious with bidding on either of these backs with the uncertainty around Jonathan Taylor‘s return.

Tucker Kraft (TE – GB)

  • Tight End Value: Often overlooked, Craft has been performing consistently as a tight end. His growing role in the offense (90% to 100% of snaps) makes him a viable pickup.

Roschon Johnson (RB – CHI)

  • Rising Role: Johnson’s increasing involvement in his team’s offensive strategy makes him a potentially valuable pickup, especially in deeper leagues.
  • Matchup: Arizona’s rush defense is the gift that keeps on giving.

Hunter Henry (TE – NE)

  • Volatility: While Henry’s productivity has been volatile this season, Bailey Zappe has formed a connection with him to the tune of nine targets in Week 15. Henry is a strong streaming option.

Jameson Williams (WR – DET)

  • Increased Usage: Williams showed promising signs with seven targets in Week 15. His increased snap count and efficiency with targets indicate potential for continued volume, making him a strong pickup.

Chase Brown (RB – CIN)

  • Dual Threat: Brown’s significant touches and receiving upside in the Bengals’ offense make him a valuable addition. He could see an uptick in usage if Ja’Marr Chase is sidelined due to injury.

Josh Palmer (WR – LAC)

  • Emerging Leader: Palmer has emerged as a strong performer and could be the WR1 if Keenan Allen remains out. His recent performances warrant attention.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB – KC) & Jerick McKinnon (RB – KC)

  • Priority Pickup: These two RBs are good additions for those looking to bolster their RB corps, but only if Isiah Pacheco is out.

Joe Flacco (QB – BAL)

  • Quarterback Play: Despite turnovers, Flacco remains a strong streaming QB option. His high-volume passing game makes him a valuable asset in fantasy leagues.

Zamir White (RB – LV)

  • Opportunistic Pickup: White’s production against the Chargers was notable. With Josh Jacobs‘s status uncertain, White’s significant snap share and receiving work make him a viable option.
