Rival Fantasy NFL: Week 15

Challenges

Last week’s challenge was a little anti-climactic with Justin Herbert being knocked out of the game and subsequently lost for the season. Michael Pittman outproduced Keenan Allen, but things could have been different if Herbert made it through the game healthy. This week, we will run our third running back challenge of the season and go back to our Week 13 matchup of Christian McCaffrey vs. Kyren Williams.

Averaging 89 rushing yards and 21 receiving yards per game, Kyren Williams has been one of the top playmakers in the NFL this season. He has 10 total touchdowns in nine games played and has become the engine of the Rams offense. His skill set has proven to be an ideal fit for Sean McVay’s offense. The Rams are 5-4 in the games Kyren has played.

Christian McCaffrey needs no introduction. The running back is already over 1,100 rushing yards, averaging 90.5 rushing yards per game and 33.6 receiving yards per game. He leads the NFL in touches, rushing yards, touchdowns, and yards from scrimmage. He has outscored Kyren most weeks this season but Williams topped him twice. I will be taking the Kyren side and leave McCaffrey for a challenger.

Fantasy Bingo

Another week, another loss at Fantasy Bingo, but we are not deterred. Our Week 2 win funded our entire season and serves as a friendly reminder that regardless of how difficult winning at Fantasy Bingo may seem to be, taking home a win is more than possible with a little RNG luck.

There was just one close call this week. On one card, I was two achievements away from a corner square, missing out on three total TDs (RB) and more than 25 rushing yards (QB). I had actually dismissed this corner as one to watch, as one of the achievements was more than four sacks (QB).

I went back to the five card well this week. There are some cards to monitor this week, but only one doesn’t depend on Deebo Samuel racking up 25 or more rushing yards or a rushing TD. The card I will be monitoring has 100 total yards (WR), 200 total yards (RB), more than one receiving TD (RB), and more than three receiving TDs (WR). The four or more receiving touchdowns promises to be an issue, so I will monitor this card but won’t get my hopes up too high.

Difficult achievements included on my cards this week include two TDs rushing + one receiving TD + one passing TD (RB), three passing TDs in the second quarter (QB), one rushing TD in the second quarter (WR), 25 rushing yards (TE), 90 receiving yards (RB), zero field goals made (K), more than 50 rushing yards (WR), one rushing TD and two receiving TDs (RB), 500 total yards (QB), 100 rushing yards (QB), five field goals made (K), two receiving TDs in the fourth quarter (RB), one rushing TD in the fourth quarter (WR), three field goals missed (K), more than three sacks (QB), more than four passing TDs in the third quarter (QB), and more than four passing TDs in the fourth quarter (QB). These, of course, are not the only challenging achievements, as there are oddly specific achievements like the three passing TDs in the second quarter littered across the skill positions. There are also more doable but far from a sure thing achievements like 125 receiving yards (TE), 150 receiving yards (WR), and two TDs rushing plus one receiving (RB). These all seem to be common achievements that have shown up each week.

My roster for this week consists of Jalen Hurts at quarterback, Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, and Kyren Williams at running back and flex, AJ Brown and Deebo Samuel at wide receiver, Travis Kelce at tight end and Justin Tucker at kicker. I chose Hurts and AJ Brown due to matchup, while my running back trio are mainstays as long as they are healthy. I chose Deebo because he has been hot through the air and also gives me a chance to hit on those pesky wide receiver rushing yard squares. Kelce is always the first option at tight end with Mark Andrews out for the regular season, and Tucker has been human enough this season to hit the 50+ field goal achievements consistently, as well as the missed field goal squares.  Good luck to all on your Fantasy Bingo cards this week.
