Last week showed why we love GPPs. There were some upside games that had us ecstatic, but there were just as many duds that had us screaming at Scott Hanson. In any case, I had a solid showing because some of our stacks went wild. There are a few games that many people will be stacking in Week 14, but the Chiefs-Bills matchup looks like the chalk of the week. We won’t feature that one much here, but seeing who makes the cut should be interesting!
NFL Week 14 DFS GPP Lineup Advice & Picks
The players below are ones I’m looking at for GPP considerations for Week 14:
Quarterbacks
DraftKings
Jared Goff (QB – DET): $6,400 at CHI
Goff seems to be overlooked every week, and I don’t understand why. The Lions quarterback is amid a career year, averaging over 19 DraftKings points per game. That could be his floor against Chicago, as the team is surrendering the seventh-most passing yards in the NFL. They also own a 24th OPRK against opposing signal-callers, and Goff generated 17 DK points against them a few weeks ago despite throwing three picks.
Baker Mayfield (QB – TB): $5,300 at ATL
Mayfield has remained way too cheap on DraftKings all season, and we will keep using him at this $5K price tag. Baker is having a bounce-back season for the Bucs, averaging over 16 DK points per game. That’s all you can hope for from such an affordable player, but it’s no surprise since he has weapons like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Atlanta is an amazing matchup, too, posting a 21st OPRK against opposing signal-callers.
FanDuel
Justin Fields (QB – CHI): $7,900 vs. DET
Fields has been an elite GPP option since he was drafted, mainly because of his rushing ability. He was the top-scoring quarterback in the second half of last season, and we saw glimpses of that before his injury this year. One of those outstanding outings was against Detroit last year, with Fields collecting 40 FanDuel points! That’s scary because the Lions have a 31st OPRK against opposing quarterbacks this year.
Russell Wilson (QB – DEN): $7,400 vs. LAC
Wilson is having a bounce-back season in Denver, but this pricing wouldn’t indicate it. The former Pro Bowler has averaged over 17 FanDuel points per game, and scored at least 17 fantasy points in four of his last five fixtures. That kind of production should be easy to reach against Los Angeles, since the Chargers are surrendering the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.
Running Backs
DraftKings
Austin Ekeler (RB – LAC): $7,600 vs. DEN
It’s hard to get excited about Ekeler with how poor he’s been recently, but we don’t want to fade him in this price range. This is the first time we’ve seen him below $8K in years, and this is an excellent spot for Ek to get back on track. The Broncos are allowing the most fantasy points to opposing backs this season, and Ekeler scored at least 21 fantasy points in three of his last four matchups with the Broncos.
Alexander Mattison (RB – MIN): $5,500 vs. LVR
Mattison has taken over this backfield with Cam Akers injured, and it’s bizarre to see him this cheap. He’s still received at least 18 carries in six of the 11 games he’s finished, averaging 12 DK points per game in those outings. That’s a nice indicator from a $5,500 player, and we’re not worried about the matchup with Vegas. The Raiders rank 27th in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs this season.
FanDuel
Bijan Robinson (RB – ATL): $7,100 vs. TB
Bijan has been a bust in season-long leagues, but this is the time to hop on the DFS train. What has us encouraged is his workload; he’s received at least 19 touches in three straight games. He also had two of his best fantasy outputs of the season in that span and will be one of the best fantasy producers for the next decade as long as he’s getting 20 touches a game. Don’t be surprised to see Robinson above $8K at the end of the month!
Devin Singletary (RB – HOU): $5,800 at NYJ
Most people will jump off the Singletary train after that dud last week, but it’s hard to overlook the production before that. Singletary averaged nearly 20 FD points per game in his three outings before that stinker, taking over this Texans backfield. That makes the sub-$6K price tag surprising, especially since he faces a Jets team with a 31st OPRK against opposing running backs.
Wide Receivers
DraftKings
Courtland Sutton (WR – DEN): $6,100 at LAC
If we’re using Russell Wilson in a GPP, we need to stack him with Sutton. He’s been the top target in this Denver offense, averaging 14 DraftKings points per game. He’s also scored at least 16 fantasy points in three of his last four outings and should reach that against LA. The Chargers are allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing receivers this season.
Drake London (WR – ATL): $4,600 vs. TB
London has been disappointing, but this price tag is wild. London is still the top target in this Atlanta offense, and he’s priced around many players who don’t get off the bench. Using a $4,600 player allows you to do whatever you want with the rest of your lineup, and it’s not like London has been awful with an average of 11 points. We love that against Tampa’s terrible secondary, which posts a 30th OPRK against opposing receivers.
FanDuel
Cooper Kupp (WR – LAR): $7,100 at BAL
Kupp was the best receiver in the NFL the last three years, but injuries have made him a shell of that this year. In any case, he still has that ability and is a heck of a GPP option at just $7K. Nobody will want to use him against a tough defense like Baltimore, but it’s not too often that you can use the best wideout in the NFL at this low cost. That’s a risk we can take here, and it’s a worthy one at the diminished price, particularly with Puka Nacua nicked up.
Chris Godwin (WR – TB): $6,100 at ATL
Godwin is in a rough patch right now, but he would be an excellent pairing with Baker Mayfield if you want to take that route. Using this Bucs stack will allow you to fill the other positions however you please because Godwin is way too cheap. This guy has been closer to $7K in each of the last three years, and it’s just a matter of time before he gets back there. Facing Atlanta is a great opportunity to get him going because Godwin has averaged more than 15 FD points per game against them over the last four years.
Tight Ends
DraftKings
Taysom Hill (TE – NOS): $5,400 vs. CAR
It’s rare to get a running back at the tight end position. but that’s what we have with Hill, who recorded a season-high 13 carries in Week 13. He’s also the primary goal-line back and is one of the top-scoring tight ends over the last month. Hill is averaging 14 DK points per game across his last seven outings and should get a handful of goal-line carries against a Carolina team surrendering the second-most rushing yards in the NFL.
FanDuel
Evan Engram (TE – JAX): $5,700 at CLE
With Christian Kirk going down in Week 13, Engram should see a boost in usage. That’s massive with how he looked on Monday night, during which he provided nine catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. He’s also had at least four receptions in every game and is one of the safest options at the most volatile position in fantasy. Many people will fade him against a defense like Cleveland, but it’s a great opportunity for him to boost the catches because Jacksonville will need to get rid of the ball quickly against this stout defensive line.
Defense/Special Teams
DraftKings
Cleveland Browns D/ST: $3,000 vs. JAX
The Browns defense has not been as dominant over the last few weeks, but this is still one of the best units out there. They are fourth at the position with 8.8 DK points per game and they get to face a beat-up Jaguars team here. Trevor Lawrence and Christian Kirk could be out, and you never know how CJ Beathard will look against one of the best defensive lines in the NFL.
FanDuel
Las Vegas Raiders D/ST: $3,700 vs. MIN
This Vegas defense has been undervalued all season. While they don’t sit near the top of the statistics, they continue to hold their opponents to 21 points or fewer on a regular basis. We love that with the way Josh Dobbs looked in Minnesota’s most recent game, where he threw four interceptions against a terrible Bears defense. This Cinderella might be turning back into a pumpkin, and it’s a great spot to use Vegas at a cheap price if that’s the case.
