Fantasy Football Outlook: Logan Thomas, Jayden Reed, Zack Moss, Jerome Ford

Every week we’ll bring you The Primer, a deep dive into every fantasy-relevant player from every NFL game of the week. You can find the full weekly Primer here. Below we dive into a few notable players ahead of this weekend’s games.

Fantasy Football Outlook

Zack Moss: Since taking back over as Indy’s bell-cow, Moss has underwhelmed, averaging 19 touches and 56.5 total yards while averaging 89% of the snaps played. Since Week 13, Moss has been underwhelming in elusiveness metrics. Over the last two games among 38 qualifying backs, he has ranked 36th in missed tackles forced per attempt and 31st in yards after contact per attempt. He has been a shell of his earlier season self with zero explosive runs over the last two games. Moss faces a Steelers’ run defense that has found its way over the last few weeks. Since Week 9, they have had the ninth-highest stuff rate while allowing the 10th-lowest explosive run rate and the 12th-lowest yards per carry to zone runs (Moss 81.3% zone across his last two games). Moss will see 18-20 touches this week, but it’s fair to wonder what he’ll do with them. Week 15 Positional Value: RB1/2

Jerome Ford: Ford has played at least 57% of the snaps in four of his last six games, averaging 16.5 touches and 73 total yards. Ford is the RB24 in fantasy points per game, ranking 15th in weighted opportunities, 20th in snap share, and 15th in carries this season. He ranks 18th in missed tackles forced per attempt and 11th in yards after contact per attempt. Ford gets downgraded to a flex option only this week against a tough Bears run defense. Since Week 9, Chicago has allowed the sixth-lowest explosive run rate, the 11th-lowest rushing touchdown rate, and the sixth-fewest rushing yards per game. Week 15 Positional Value: Middling flex

Jayden Reed: Reed has stepped up since Week 8 he has been the WR20 in fantasy points per game. Over the last four weeks, he has been “Dairy Belt Deebo Samuel” with at least 38 rushing yards twice and two rushing scores. Since Week 10, the Buccaneers have utilized single-high at the 12th-highest rate (58.3%). Since Week 8, against single-high, Reed has a team-high 20.4% target share and a 25% first-read share with 1.90 YPRR. Since Week 8, Tampa Bay has given up the sixth-highest PPR points per target and the fifth-most receiving yards to slot receivers. Reed should smash. Week 15 Positional Value: WR2/3

Logan Thomas: Thomas is the TE15 in fantasy points per game, ranking 11th in deep targets and 17th in red zone targets. He has a 13.1% target share and a 13.4% first-read share with 1.12 YPRR. Thomas has flashed some upside this season with five TE1 weeks. Thomas is an amazing tight-end option this week. The Rams have not been able to stop tight ends all year, allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game and receiving yards per game while also giving up the highest yards per reception. Week 15 Positional Value: Borderline TE1
