Fantasy Football Burning Questions Week 14: Russell Wilson, Jake Browning, Parker Washington

We are approaching the fantasy football playoffs, and it’s time to see what we need to make a championship run. It’s also been an injury-filled season, and more impactful players went down in Week 13.

Let’s look at some players you can add as replacements in this week’s “Burning Questions.”

Who Are Some Players You Think Will Have a Great Run in the Playoffs?

Here are a couple of players with favorable fantasy playoff matchups that should be in your lineup.

Russell Wilson (QB – DEN):  It’s time to erase the memory of the disappointing 2022 season. Russell Wilson is a respectable QB14 this year and has put up 16 points or more in four of the last five games. He has a favorable upcoming schedule with two games against the Chargers, mixed with the Lions and Patriots.

Courtland Sutton (WR – DEN):  This could turn into a championship-winning stack. Courtland Sutton hasn’t put up the explosive yardage, but he’s been consistently finding pay dirt with a touchdown in nine of 12 games. We mentioned the Broncos’ schedule, and each of those opponents is also bottom-five in touchdowns allowed to wide receivers.

Jaylen Warren (RB – PIT):  Did you know the Steelers have been the best rushing team over the last few weeks? Jaylen Warren has been stepped up recently, averaging over six yards per carry in four of the previous five games. He’ll see Seattle and Indianapolis, who are in the bottom six in points allowed to running backs, plus Cincinnati, that is also a plus matchup.

Can You Give Me a Breakdown of the Quarterback Landscape & if Some of These New Players Can Help My Team?

Will Jake Browning have another game like Week 13? Maybe. As he continues to get first-team reps, we’re seeing improvements. He gets the Colts and Vikings, which are good matchups. However, then it’s the Steelers, Chiefs and Browns, which are not so good. I’d be cautious with that in what would be your fantasy championship.

Joe Flacco faced a Rams’ secondary in Week 13 that’s not as good as in previous years. He’ll get the Jaguars coming off a short week and getting torched by Browning and the Bengals. Then he gets the Bears, who have one of the worst secondaries this year. The Texans will be another solid matchup, but then he gets the Jets that on paper is tough, but the familiarity could help. Flacco could be a desperation play if you need a quarterback.

C.J. Beathard had a couple of good throws, but it shows that he hasn’t taken many meaningful snaps in a while. His next two matchups are tough against the Browns and then the Ravens. I’d looked for another option.

As for the Jets quarterback situation? Don’t put yourself through that headache.

Can I Get Some Good Suggestions To Replace Some of My Injured Wide Receivers?

We saw rookie Parker Washington have an impact immediately after Christian Kirk left the game. Kirk will miss time, as he likely needs surgery. Add Washington.

Alec Pierce is coming off a monster game by hitting the century mark and a touchdown. What you have to look at is that he’s getting more involved with six targets in each of the last two games. If he can continue getting that volume, he’s a flex option.

Brandin Cooks is what we were hoping for. He’s averaging 14.4 yards per reception in his last three games and has scored in three of his past four contests.
