Week 17 Fantasy Football Burning Questions

Who should I play at quarterback between Kyler Murray, Geno Smith, and Derek Carr?

Murray could be a great option against a defense that played poorly all year by allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to the position.

The Steelers are a tough defensive front that will blitz, but Geno has a great offensive line in front of him and they have been allowing the fourth-most seconds inside the pocket.

The Buccaneers have been a shakeup pass defense all year by allowing the most passing yards this season.

All three are great options, but after watching Carr last week, I like his potential in this matchup.

Should I trust Joe Flacco one more time?

It’s a tough one: do you trust the revenge factor of the Cleveland QB facing his former team or the Jets’ elite pass defense? They are allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to the quarterback.

Ultimately, this is the championship, and starting someone with an unfavorable matchup is difficult. Flacco got you here, but you’ll have to sit him if you want the best chance to win.

I need to play three out of the following four: Tyler Lockett, Zay Flowers, Najee Harris, or Jaylen Warren?

You shouldn’t start two running backs on the same team, so the choice of who to start beyond Lockett and Flowers is between Harris or Warren. Warren is starting to take over as the featured back and has out-snapped Harris in back-to-back weeks. While Harris has been the better runner in the last two games, Warren is getting used in the passing game while Harris has not gotten any targets. I’m riding with Warren based on the snap count and pass usage.

Give me some defensive streaming options to use.

Chicago’s defense has been excellent in the last three-quarters of the season. Since Week 5, they’ve had six games with over ten points. They’re facing an Atlanta offense that flips their starting quarterbacks like a coin and looks terrible no matter who is behind center.

The Colts are another defense that has picked up steam lately. The defense is averaging 15.3 points in their last six games. Besides the game against the Chargers, the Raiders’ offense has not been great, scoring 20 or more points just one other time in the last six games.

The Rams haven’t been the best defense to stream, but they have a great matchup. They face the Giants, who are moving on from Tommy Cutlets (Tommy DeVito) and returning to Tyrod Taylor. New York has been the third-most favorable matchup for fantasy defenses this year. Los Angeles has only seen a bottom ten offense two other times, and they had six and seven points in those games.
