Fantasy Basketball Trade Advice (Week 10)

Despite suffering an ankle injury that kept him out for over a month, Tyler Herro is easily having the best season of his career. He’s shown zero signs of rust since his return to the lineup on Dec. 18.
The fifth-year guard is averaging a career-high in points, rebounds, steals, and shooting percentage from the field and from range. Herro paces the Heat in minutes, points, shot attempts and steals per game, and he ranks third and second in rebounds and assists per contest.
It sounds strange, but trading for Herro is trading for Miami’s first option. His ceiling is high, and he has yet to show much a low floor.

De’Anthony Melton (PG, SG – MIL)
In his last two games, De’Anthony Melton has achieved totals of 37 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and six steals. The problem is that in the six games before that, Melton scored 35 points combined.
While the Sixers guard is averaging a career-high in shot attempts per game, he ranks 145th in the NBA in FG%. Because Melton averages the fifth-most shots per game on the Sixers, there’s far too much variance in his game to rely on him comfortably.

Outside of his block numbers, Brook Lopez is having a down month. However, not many non-superstar centers have as high of a ceiling as Lopez, which is why he’s a buy-low candidate.
In trading for Lopez, you’re hoping that everything besides the blocks catches up to a steady rate. In his last 11 games, Lopez has failed to hit at least three shots four times. During that same span, the big man has recorded under three blocks only four times, as well.
If he can hit a hot streak and put it all together, Lopez will return to being a great fantasy center.

The Jeremy Sochan at point guard experiment is not conducive to Spurs wins or fantasy basketball success. The former Baylor Bear is averaging more rebounds than assists, and he hasn’t excelled much as a scorer.
In his last 12 games, Sochan has reached double-digit points seven times and at least five assists just twice. There isn’t one single area of Sochan’s game that would make him a desirable fantasy asset. Even his rebound numbers aren’t that impressive. With that, his floor is very low.
