2024 NFL Draft Prospects to Watch: Adonai Mitchell & Mike Sainristil

2024 NFL Draft Prospects to Watch: Adonai Mitchell & Mike Sainristil

We’re nearing the end of College Football season, which means we will be transitioning into NFL Draft mode sooner rather than later.  The performances in the tape reviewed on some of these games help determine where these prospects get drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft.

As we head into the College Football Playoff, here are two prospects to watch for your dynasty and devy leagues.

2024 NFL Draft Prospects to Watch

Adonai Mitchell (WR – Texas)

Every season, a list of players becomes the crush for every NFL Draft analyst. It’s early in the process, but Adonai Mitchell from Texas has won me over through two games. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 196 pounds, Mitchell moves incredibly well for a player of his size. He’s fluid in space and displays an understanding of how to pace his routes.

Before playing for the Longhorns, Mitchell played two seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs. During those two seasons, he played in 21 games with 15 starts, resulting in 38 receptions for 560 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2022, he did miss nine games due to a high ankle sprain. Fortunately, he has bounced back nicely and has become a key piece for the Texas offense.

As Texas enters the College Football Playoff, they will rely on Mitchell’s skill set to beat the Washington Huskies. This season, he has recorded 51 receptions for 813 yards and 10 touchdowns. Look for him to make plays on all three levels of the field the rest of the way.

Mike Sainristil (CB – Michigan)

There might not be a player who has done more for their draft stock than Mike Sainristil. He’s a former receiver that converted to cornerback for the 2022 season. Since then, he’s become an absolute stud for the Michigan defense. Over the last two seasons, he’s started 27 games on defense, resulting in 88 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 18 pass deflections and five interceptions.

You’ll immediately notice that Sainristil is a tone-setter when watching the tape. He’s always around the football. He makes a difference, from laying big hits to making plays on the football. He’s played in 60 total games in his college career and will also provide a team value on special teams.

Listed at 5-foot-10 and 182 pounds, his size may get questioned by some scouts and teams. Still, as the saying goes, “dynamite comes in small packages,” and that’s exactly what he’ll provide an NFL team. In addition to playing football, Sainristil also competed in track and field in high school. His PR for the 55-meter dash (indoors) was 7.07 seconds. Don’t be surprised if the 23-year-old cornerback goes much sooner than his current spot in the cornerback rankings. With a strong offseason, it wouldn’t be shocking if Sainristil ends up being a top-75 pick for a team in the 2024 NFL Draft.
