Rival Fantasy NFL: Week 11

Challenges

We had our first running back challenge of the season in Week 10 but will be going back to the wide receiver well for Week 11. Deciding which players to include in challenges is always a difficult task. I thought about something with Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb, or A.J. Brown, but will instead go with the most surprising receiver of the last two weeks: Noah Brown.

Noah Brown has started clicking with CJ Stroud and is starting to look like an emerging star. Brown averaged an outstanding 6.5 receptions and 163 receiving yards over the last two weeks. The receiving yard average ranks second in the league over that time, behind only former teammate CeeDee Lamb. His target share was strong at 19.4 percent but could expand going forward.

We will put him up against someone much more talented in future Hall of Famer DeAndre Hopkins, but who is playing with a far less talented (also) rookie quarterback. Will Levis has shown flashes, but Hopkins no longer looks like the QB-proof assassin that he once was. Hopkins has recorded 65 or fewer passing yards in all but two games this season while hitting 128 or more in the other two. He has 87 combined receiving yards in the two games since his Week 8 explosion. This should make for an interesting challenge.

Fantasy Bingo

Week 10 was yet another disappointing week. I had a couple of cards that I was monitoring, but the tougher achievements kept them from hitting. The corner square with the most achievements needed more than three total TDs (WR). I did have a surprise three squares in a horizontal line and a vertical line on the same card, but I needed three rushing TDs (RB) and 20-29 yard field goal (K) on the horizontal and one rushing + two receiving TDs (RB), and more than 250 passing yards (QB).

There are a couple of cards worth monitoring this week. On one card, there is a corner square I will be monitoring that requires two receiving TDs in the first quarter (WR), two total TDs (RB), more than 100 total yards (TE), and more than 10 rushing yards (RB). The other card I will be monitoring has a corner square with more than 100 total yards (TE), zero field goals missed (K), more than 100 rushing yards (RB), and three passing TDs (QB).

Difficult achievements included on my cards this week include two TDs rushing + one receiving TD + one passing TD (RB), three passing TDs in the second quarter (QB), one rushing TD in the second quarter (WR), 25 rushing yards (TE), 90 receiving yards (RB), zero field goals made (K), more than 50 rushing yards (WR), one rushing TD and two receiving TDs (RB), 500 total yards (QB), 100 rushing yards (QB), five field goals made (K), two receiving TDs in the fourth quarter (RB), one rushing TD in the fourth quarter (WR), three field goals missed (K), more than three sacks (QB), more than four passing TDs in the third quarter (QB), and more than four passing TDs in the fourth quarter (QB). These, of course, are not the only challenging achievements, as there are oddly specific achievements like the three passing TDs in the second quarter littered across the skill positions. There are also more doable but far from a sure thing achievements like 125 receiving yards (TE), 150 receiving yards (WR), and two TDs rushing plus one receiving (RB). These all seem to be common achievements that have shown up each week.

My roster for this week has some changes and the return of some familiar faces. At quarterback, I selected Tua Tagovailoa due to having the softest matchup of the top options at the position. Christian McCaffrey remains a mainstay in my lineup at running back, and I tapped Austin Ekeler again this week due to his reception upside. At wide receiver, I tapped Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb, and A.J. Brown. At tight end, I am sticking with Travis Kelce, and finally, at kicker, I am rolling with the welcomingly inconsistent Tyler Bass as he gives me a good shot at both the made and missed field goal achievements. Good luck to all on your Fantasy Bingo cards this week!
