Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (11/10)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (G – OKC): 1.5 first quarter assists
SGA is in the midst of another All-NBA caliber season and has emerged as one of the elite young stars in the league. For tonight’s game, the most intriguing total on the Canadian is his first quarter assist line. Set at a fair 1.5, the recent trends suggest an easy More tap. SGA has recorded two or more assists in each of his last five first quarters and three or more in four of his last five first quarters played. On the season as a whole, he is averaging 8.9 points and 2.7 assists per first quarter. On a day where it seems like the linemakers have temporarily caught up to us, this is one of the top values of the day based on recent trends. Slap the More on Shai for Friday night.
Pick: More
Domantas Sabonis (C – SAC): 0.5 double doubles
Averaging 12.9 rebounds per game on the season, this double double line on Sabonis is one of the standout values of the day. Yes, the multiplier is low, but as mentioned here before, in an environment where you are required to pick two or more plays, low multiplier plays have their place. This line has been set higher than what we have seen on Nikola Jokic and Nikola Vucevic earlier this season, so there is some value in the current 1.12 number as well. The multiplier is fluid, so be sure to lock this one in when you see a favorable one. Domantas has recorded 11 or more rebounds in all but one game this season and is facing an Oklahoma City Thunder team relinquishing a league-high 18.5 rebounds per game to opposing centers. Dap the More on Damontas for Friday night.
Pick: More
Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 23.5 points
Cade Cunningham has looked excellent to start the season. He is averaging 24 points and 7.1 assists per game, both career highs. His shooting percentage remains unsightly, but with an emerging star like Cade, you can live with the growing pains. His point line for tonight has been set at 23.5, a number that suggests little to no value based on his season average. However, Cade has scored 26 or more points in three of his last five games and has scored 22 or more in each of his last five. The matchup tonight is tough enough that the Less has a higher probability than we are usually comfortable with, as Philadelphia is allowing just 20.67 points per game to the point guard position. We will rock with the trends here as Cade will take it upon himself to match or exceed Tyrese Maxey’s output while at the same time trying to engineer the makings of an upset against one of the Eastern Conference’s best. Clap the More on Cade for Friday night.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper, so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
