Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (11/24)
Alperen Sengun (C – HOU): 19.5 points
Sengun has been excellent for the Rockets this season, averaging 20.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game. He had scored 23 or more points in five straight games before an 11 point dud against the Memphis Grizzlies. He took just nine shots and had five fouls. Sengun will look to get back on track against Nikola Jokic and a Nuggets defense allowing opposing centers to score 21.49 points per game. The matchup is primed for Sengun to hit at least 20 points. Slap the More on Sengun for tonight’s contest.
Pick: More
Jordan Poole (G – WAS): 21.5 points
I won’t lie, my initial lean on this total was on the Less. Poole has started to heat up for the Wizards, but much of that has had to do with volume, as his 30 and 24 point nights came on 26 and 21 shots, respectively. And it’s not like the efficiency has gotten any better, as he shot .423 on the 30 point night and .381 on the 24 point night. Relying on that much volume, even for a player on a team as dysfunctional as the Wizards, is a risky proposition. However, his opponent tonight is a Milwaukee Bucks team relinquishing a league-high 25.44 points per game to the shooting guard position. As long as he takes 10 shots from inside the three point line, he should be good. Take the matchup and tap the More on Poole.
Pick: More
Domantas Sabonis (C – SAC): 0.5 double doubles
Sabonis double double is on the board at a decent 1.29 multiplier for Friday’s action. Sabonis narrowly missed the double double the last time out, putting up 23 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and one block. Wednesday’s game was the first time in eight games he failed to record a double double. On the season as a whole, Sabonis has recorded a double double in 11 of 13 games. As we often echo in this column, there is always a place for lower multiplier plays in environments where you have to make two or more predictions. Dap the More on Domantas for Friday night.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper, so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
