Fantasy Football Outlook: Terry McLaurin, Najee Harris, D.J. Moore, C.J. Stroud

Every week we’ll bring you The Primer, a deep dive into every fantasy-relevant player from every NFL game of the week. You can find the full weekly fantasy football Primer here. Below we dive into a few notable players ahead of this weekend’s games.

Fantasy Football Outlook

Najee Harris: Harris and Jaylen Warren split the work down the middle last week, with Warren gaining a slight edge in routes and red zone opportunities. His volume was still fantastic last week, with 19 touches and 96 total yards. With Pittsburgh leaning into their rushing attack as much as they have, both Harris and Warren could get 15-20 touches weekly moving forward. It’s impossible to ignore how good Harris has been this season on a per-touch basis, ranking sixth in explosive run rate and 23rd in yards after contact per attempt. Harris should remain a key cog in the Steeler’s weekly plans despite the world condensing on an announcement that Warren is the team’s starter. Since Week 6, the Browns have given up the second-highest explosive run rate, the seventh-most fantasy points via rushing, and the highest missed tackles per attempt. Since Week 7, Harris has been the RB13 in fantasy points per game. Week 11 Positional Value: RB2

D.J. Moore: In Weeks 1-5 with Fields under center, Moore had a 22.4% target share, a 44.3% air-yard share, 3.18 YPRR, and a 37.1% first-read share. He also led the team with four end-zone targets. Since Week 5, the Lions have the 12th-highest rate of single-high (55.1%). In the first five games of the season, Moore dominated single-high with 3.16 YPRR and a team-leading 35.3% first-read share. Moore is eighth among wide receivers in deep targets. He will run about 82% of his routes against Cameron Sutton (61.5% catch rate and 106.0 passer rating) and Jerry Jacobs (60.4% catch rate and 80.2 passer rating). Since Week 5, Detroit has allowed the eighth-highest PPR points per target and the sixth-most receiving touchdowns (tied) to perimeter wide receivers. Week 11 Positional Value: WR2 with WR1 upside

Terry McLaurin: McLaurin is the WR30 in fantasy, ranking 11th in deep targets. He has six red zone targets over his last four games. In Week 7 against this secondary, he secured six of his nine targets with 90 receiving yards (WR20). Since Week 6, the Giants have utilized man coverage at the highest rate in the NFL (47.2%). Against man coverage, McLaurin leads the team with a 22.8% target share and a 37.7% air-yard share with 1.86 YPRR and a 26.3% first-read share. McLaurin could catch shadow coverage from Deonte Banks (57.6% catch rate and 86.2 passer rating) this week. In their last meeting, Banks followed McLaurin on 45% of his routes. McLaurin ate him alive, securing four of his six targets for 70 yards. Banks has followed wide receivers on 50% of their routes on five occasions this season with varying results. He held Jaylen Waddle, Michael Gallup, and Davante Adams all below 30 receiving yards in his primary coverage. Still, D.K. Metcalf had 34 receiving yards (one touchdown), and Garrett Wilson posted 100 receiving yards. Week 11 Positional Value: WR2/3

C.J. Stroud: Stroud has been so much fun to watch weekly. He is the QB6 in fantasy with QB1 games in three of the last four weeks (QB12, QB1, QB9). Since Week 4, Stroud has been operating on another level, ranking second in yards per attempt, fifth in passer rating, tenth in hero throw rate, and fifth in fantasy points per dropback. Stroud will create a masterpiece with dots this week against Arizona. Since Week 5, they have surrendered the fifth-most passing touchdowns, the third-highest passer rating, and the seventh-highest adjusted completion rate. Stroud should have no problems dismantling them with deep passing. Arizona, during the same span, has given up the second-highest deep passer rating and the fifth-highest depth-adjusted completion rate. Week 11 Positional Value: QB1
