Don’t look now, but we’re heading into week ten of the 2023 NFL season. Before you know it, the fantasy playoffs will be upon us, so what better thing to do than look to improve your team ahead of a potential playoff push? As always, we’ve got your early week ten trade advice covered, with three players to buy and three to sell.

Early Week 9 Fantasy Football Trade Advice
Players to Buy
George Pickens was the subject of many memes and jokes following his week nine performance. He should have hauled in a touchdown on a play where he failed to drag the toe from his second foot on the sideline, and Diontae Johnson also found his way into the endzone for the first time since Ben Roethlisberger was quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite some cryptic Instagram posts, Pickens is still the wide receiver I most want to roster from the Steelers’ offense. If the manager in your league is panicked over the potential re-emergence of Johnson, I’d be keen on trying to swing a deal for Pickens now, coming off of a down week.
In a vacuum, it’s tough to recommend a player coming off of a game where he received four rushing attempts and totaled just eight rushing yards as a buy, but hear me out. The volume isn’t there for right now, but the volume for star running back Kenneth Walker III has also declined over the past two weeks. The Seahawks faced two formidable defenses in the Browns and the Ravens, but Charbonnet will see his role grow as the season rolls on. He’s not a player I’m going out and moving players of significant value for, but if he’s on waivers or can be had as a throw-in player as part of a more significant trade, he’s worth monitoring.
There have been plenty of issues with efficiency regarding Rachaad White this season, but two things have not been an issue at all: his receiving work and the fact that he’s receiving the lion’s share of the rushing attempts. He’s on pace for north of 70 receptions and has seen double-digit rushing attempts in all but two games. The efficiency concerns will scare off some managers, but he’s a locked-in weekly RB2, and I’m always in favor of adding running back depth for the stretch run.
Players to Sell
Tyson Bagent brought Darnell Mooney back to life in week nine, as he posted season highs in receptions (five) and receiving yards (82). Mooney is a fine player who will be plagued by inconsistency with the Bears regardless of who is under center. If I can work Mooney into a deal to acquire a much more reliable piece, that’s the move. Package him with another player or two to find a clear upgrade for your roster, but this is your clear opportunity to do so following his best week of the season.
Odell Beckham Jr finally found the endzone for the first time in his Ravens career in week nine, but it’s hard to see that trend continuing. He has not been a factor for almost the entire season, and he won’t find a surplus of volume anytime soon. He’s still a player with a highly notable name who, similar to Mooney, could potentially be worked into a more significant deal. The Baltimore wide receiver you want to be rostering for the stretch run remains Zay Flowers.
All the Houston pass catchers gave us some fantasy production in week nine, thanks to CJ Stroud going nuclear, but I’m not chasing the production for some Texans pass catchers. Brown, Dalton Schultz, and Tank Dell all eclipsed 100 receiving yards this week, but the reliable volume should be funneled through Dell, Schultz, and Nico Collins, who did find his way into the endzone. Brown will have some spike weeks, but I’m sure you’re sensing a theme: package wide receivers who are replaceable with other players to find significant upgrades for your roster!
