We’re deep into the fantasy football season now and it can pay to look a little bit further down the line towards the playoffs and also consider some handcuff stashes too. 9 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Stashes

Derek Carr (QB – LV) – 43% Rostered

It hasn’t been spectacular for Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints this season. Many of their games have been slow-paced and low-scoring affairs. But there are very few starting-caliber healthy quarterbacks right now and in Carr’s last four healthy games, he was no worse than QB13. Week 13’s bye week schedule is brutal, and having even a functional starter is worth sacrificing a bench spot for now. Even better: The Saints play a Detroit Lions team in Week 13 who can’t seem to get out of their own way.

Ty Chandler (RB – MIN) – 47% Rostered

The Vikings haven’t seen anywhere near enough from Alexander Mattison to keep rolling him out there as the unquestioned starter – especially when there is still the sniff of a potential playoff spot on the line. In Week 11, Mattison rushed for more 3.5 yards per carry for the first time since Week 7 and only the second time since Week 5. Chandler, meanwhile turned 10 rush attempts and into 73 yards a week after he picked up 45 yards and a touchdown. With Cam Akers out, Chandler is clearly the RB2 and should see plenty of work down the stretch.

Tyjae Spears (RB – TEN) – 39% Rostered

The only way that Tyjae Spears was ever going to hit his ceiling outcomes in Year 1 was if Derrick Henry got traded, was cut or succumbed to injury. Thankfully for Henry he’s been injury-free and the Titans kept hold of him despite a tradable contract during a down season. Spears was the RB41 in Week 11 with Henry marginally ahead at RB39. Spears has had 30 touches in the past four games and averages 7.6 touches per game across the season. With little to no competition outside of Henry, Spears would be a volume-monster down the stretch if something happened.

Rashid Shaheed (WR – NO) – 52% Rostered

Veteran Michael Thomas is now on injured reserve and, given his injury history, it could be the last we see of him both this year and in New Orleans. Shaheed has had three games with more 18 PPR points and now should see an increase in his playing time opposite Chris Olave, who’ll continue to draw heavy coverage. Shaheed hasn’t been a consistent player throughout his career, but he flashes upside and if you need a player with ceiling to try and drag your team into the playoffs then he’s worth your consideration.

Demario Douglas (WR – NE) – 35% Rostered

The Patriots are in all kinds of a mess this year after the return of offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien was supposed to bring offensive harmony. Instead, he’s brought something far below mediocrity to the point where it’s time to start losing as much as possible to climb the draft order. Douglas averaged 7.25 targets per game since Week 7 and has been a top-30 wide receiver three out of four games. With Week 13’s bye weeks coming, Douglas can cover for a week at a minimum but more likely will do even better considering that the Patriots play the Chargers, who allow the second most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers.

Zay Jones (WR – JAC) – 21% Rostered

The return of Zay Jones brought about a much more functional offense for the Jaguars who, for the first time in weeks, got the deep game going with Calvin Ridley clicked into gear. Jones managed only 20 yards on four targets, but quarterback Trevor Lawrence trusts Jones enough from 2022 when he had three top-eight finishes between weeks 12-17. Jones’ ceiling is probably not as high as this past year due to increased target competition on the team, but the Jaguars play a Cincinnati Bengals team in Week 13 who are struggling on defense of late.

Isaiah Likely (TE – BAL) – 50% Rostered

With the sad news that Mark Andrews‘s season is likely over, once again we turn our attention to Likely, the second-year tight end who has flashed at times. Likely played more 60% of the snaps on two occasions in 2022 and scored 19.7 points and 9.4. Likely doesn’t have the same mind-meld that Andrews and quarterback Lamar Jackson have, but he can get open and is a good pass-catcher. With games scripted around his ability he’s worth our attention, particularly given the Ravens have scored 30+ points in four consecutive games.

Gerald Everett (TE – LAC) – 20% Rostered

The Chargers are crying out for players to take the field and actually catch the ball. Mike Williams has been out for the year for awhile, Josh Palmer is on injured reserve, Jalen Guyton has struggled through injuries and Quentin Johnston … well, you’ve probably seen the problem with Johnston. Meanwhile, Everett was a reliable player for the Chargers in 2022 and it was expected he might be the same this year, but injuries have slowed him down. If Everett can get back out on the field he’d potentially be Justin Herbert‘s second-best pass-catcher from the get go.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 29% Rostered

The Buccaneers have games coming up against Gardner Minshew, Bryce Young, Desmond Ridder and Jordan Love on deck. That should be all you need to know.
