Will Zay Jones Play in Week 5? (2023 Fantasy Football)

Week 5 has arrived! Unfortunately, the injury watch for fantasy managers is also here. Players who appear on the Friday injury report and haven’t practiced much during the week can often lead to trepidation for managers trying to make lineup decisions and/or waiver claims. Don’t fret, though – FantasyPros is here to provide you with all of the latest news and updates on the players who are questionable heading into the weekend.

Zay Jones has been dealing with a knee injury that kept him out of Weeks 3 and 4, and it is threatening to keep him out of Jacksonville’s Week 5 matchup against Buffalo. He is listed on the injury report as questionable. So will Zay Jones play in Week 5? Here’s what we know.

Zay Jones (knee) questionable for Week 5

Zay Jones has been listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bills.

Fantasy Impact

Jones was limited in practice all week after being sidelined in Week 4. Doug Pederson said he was optimistic Jones will be able to return against Buffalo. If healthy, Jones should push Christian Kirk back to his role in the slot.

What the Experts Are Saying

Jones has been listed as questionable this week. He practiced on a limited basis all week (knee). In Weeks 1-2, he saw a 17.6% target share and a 34.5% air yard share. Lawrence has looked to Jones near paydirt in each of the last two seasons. Last year, he was 12th in red zone targets among wideouts. This season, he leads the team with four end zone targets, and he ranks 12th among wide receivers in red zone targets. Jones will run about 57% of his routes against Dane Jackson (2022: 58.2% catch rate and 81.9 passer rating) and Christian Benford (58.3% catch rate and 94.4 passer rating). Week 5 Positional Value: WR3/4
