Saquon Barkley (ankle) ruled game-time decision by Daboll
New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll called RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) a game-time decision for Week 5.
Fantasy Impact
Barkley has missed a pair of games due to injury, ushering in RB Matt Breida into a starting role. Breida will likely return to starting if Barkley — who is listed as questionable — can’t go, though Barkley will likely try his best to play. If Barkley can play, he’s a must-start RB every week.

What the Experts Are Saying
Barkley practiced on a limited basis this week and has been listed as questionable. Every beat writer report I surveyed this week regarding Barkley sounded more pessimistic than optimistic about his Week 5 prospects. Barkley feels more doubtful than truly questionable for this game. In any practice footage, I could find, Barkley was moving at half speed and not making any sharp cuts. I lean he will be out this week. If he does play, I don’t expect him to have a full workload. Barkley has averaged 19 touches and 77.5 total yards. Among 58 qualifying backs, he ranks 12th-best in explosive run rate, 21st in missed tackles forced per attempt, and 12th in yards after contact per attempt. Miami is a confounding run defense to decipher. They have held rushers to the 13th-lowest explosive run rate and 11th-lowest yards after contact per attempt, but they also have the lowest stuff rate in the NFL while giving up the second-highest yards before contact per attempt. Barkley is likely out this week, but if he plays, he’s a low-end RB2/high-end RB3. Week 5 Positional Value: Low-end RB2 / High-end RB3
