Will Christian McCaffrey Play in Week 7? (2023 Fantasy Football)

Week 7 has arrived! Unfortunately, the injury watch for fantasy managers is also here. Players who appear on the Friday injury report and haven’t practiced much during the week can often lead to trepidation for managers trying to make lineup decisions and/or waiver claims. Don’t fret, though – FantasyPros is here to provide you with all of the latest news and updates on the players who are questionable heading into the weekend.

Christian McCaffrey suffered an oblique injury in Week 6 against the Browns, and the injury has now called into question his availability for San Francisco’s game against Minnesota in Week 7. So will Christian McCaffrey play in Week 7? Here’s the latest.

Christian McCaffrey (oblique) doesn’t practice Friday

Christian McCaffrey (oblique) did not participate at San Francisco’s practice on Friday.

Fantasy Impact

Thursday marks the second straight day that McCaffrey has been sidelined at practice because of an oblique injury. We haven’t heard much from the team about his outlook for this week, but he appears to be trending in the wrong direction if he can’t log at least a limited practice session on Saturday. If he’s out against the Vikings this week, fantasy managers can look for Elijah Mitchell and Brandon Aiyuk to get more work in his absence.

What the Experts Are Saying

McCaffrey’s status is up in the air for Week 7. I will update the outlook for this backfield on Saturday as soon as we have more information.
