We had one of our best GPP articles of the season last week. We had different pieces of the optimal lineup spread throughout that article, and that’s my ultimate goal when writing this piece.
We’ll have duds every week, but it’s important to realize you will have bad players playing GPPs. These will always be risky options, but picking guys who will be rostered at low ownership is imperative. With that in mind, let’s get into these Week 6 picks!

NFL Week 6 DFS GPP Picks
The players below are ones I’m looking at for GPP considerations in Week 6.
DraftKings Quarterbacks
Matthew Stafford (QB – LAR): $6,100 vs. ARI
We’ve had Stafford in here numerous times, and he’s likely to remain in this section as long as managers continue to overlook him. Stafford has always been known as a slinger, and you better believe he’ll keep throwing with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua dominating every week. That has Stafford Top 3 in pass attempts and passing yards, making him an easy play against an Arizona team that owns a 28th OPRK against opposing quarterbacks.
Baker Mayfield (QB – TB): $5,400 vs. DET
Baker is quietly having a really good season in Tampa. The Cleveland cast-off has scored at least 21.4 DraftKings points in two of his last three games, averaging over 18 fantasy points per game. That’s amazing from a $5,400 player, but it’s less surprising since he has weapons like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. It’s not like Detroit is a disastrous matchup, posting a 20th OPRK against opposing signal-callers.
FanDuel Quarterbacks
Trevor Lawrence (QB – JAC): $7,600 vs. IND
People were high on Lawrence at the beginning of the season, and he’s let down most season-long managers. The good news is that he’s starting to turn things around, scoring at least 15.4 FanDuel points in three straight games. He’s also attempted at least 37 passes in three of four games and shouldn’t be overlooked against a 23rd-ranked Colts secondary.
Gardner Minshew (QB – IND): $6,500 at JAX
Minshew Magic is back in action now that Anthony Richardson is sidelined. This guy has always been solid in a starting role, scoring at least 14 FD points in 13 of his 15 games as a starter over the last four years! He’s also flirting with a 20-point average and is way too cheap behind that type of production. A matchup with Jacksonville isn’t too shabby either, surrendering the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.
Running Backs
DraftKings
Joe Mixon (RB – CIN): $6,300 vs. SEA
Many fantasy managers are horrified by Mixon, but we’re encouraged by his workload. He’s still the horse of this Cincy backfield, playing in over 75 percent of the team’s snaps in every game since Week 1. That means he’s guaranteed 20 touches and all the goal-line work, making him an excellent option against a Seattle team surrendering the third-most rushing yards in the NFL!
Rhamondre Stevenson (RB – NWE): $5,400 at LVR
There’s no way Stevenson is this bad! He was a Top 10 running back at times last year, and a matchup with Las Vegas is the thing that could get him back on track. The Raiders rank 18th in OPRK against opposing rushers, and this looks like a game where New England won’t get blown out. As long as he’s getting most of the work, Stevenson should never be $5,400 in this type of quality matchup.
FanDuel
Kyren Williams (RB – LAR): $8,200 vs. ARI
People will see that Kyren is above $8,000 and scroll right past him. We believe that’s a silly notion because he’s playing more than anyone in the league. He actually leads all running backs in snaps and never comes off the field. That has him averaging 16.6 FanDuel points per game, which is bad news for an Arizona team that allows the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing rushers. This is also a quality game script because Williams and the Rams are a 7.5-point favorite in this tasty matchup.
Dameon Pierce (RB – HOU): $5,900 vs. NOS
This falls under the same boat as Stevenson. Pierce has been pitiful for the Texans this season, but he’s getting close to a 60 percent snap share. We saw this guy perform at a $7K level in that type of role in the past, and it might get higher the healthier this guy gets. New Orleans is no easy matchup, but this is expected to be a close game, and Pierce should be a lock for double-digit carries in what could be a grinder of a game.
Wide Receivers
DraftKings
Garrett Wilson (WR – NYJ): $6,000 vs. PHI
This offense has been awful with Zach Wilson behind center, but Garrett is still the focal point of the passing game. He’s fifth in the NFL with a 33 percent team target share, and that’s why people were taking him in the second round of season-long leagues. That sort of opportunity makes him an outstanding GPP play in this matchup, with Philly allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing receivers. The Jets will also have to throw a ton to keep up with the Eagles, which means double-digit targets could be in play!
Kj Osborn (WR – MIN): $4,400 at CHI
Many people will pivot to Jordan Addison with Justin Jefferson out, but Osborn is the better play at this salary. He’s expected to step into the “X” role for JJ, which means Kirk Cousins could be feeding him in this matchup. KJ collected nine targets last week and could do that weekly from here on out. Not to mention, Chicago surrenders the second-most passing yards in the NFL!
FanDuel
Michael Pittman (WR – IND): $6,500 at JAX
Pittman hasn’t done much over the last two weeks, but his early-season form still entices us. He had at least eight receptions in each of the first three games, totaling a 29 percent team target share. We love that since Minshew is behind center, and this offense should get more pass-centric with Anthony Richardson’s wheels sitting on the bench.
Robert Woods (WR – HOU): $5,500 vs. NOS
Woods is being overlooked by the fantasy community. This guy was a Top 10 wide receiver at times with the Rams, and he’s now the go-to guy in Houston. He’s got at least six targets in all five games, averaging eight per game this season. That’s a monster workload from a $5,500 player, and it’s not like CJ Stroud will slow him down.
Tight Ends
DraftKings
Logan Thomas (TE – WAS): $3,500 at ATL
Many managers will use George Kittle, Sam LaPorta, and TJ Hockenson, but Thomas is the best punt play at the position. This is an Eric Bienemy offense, which means they will feed the tight ends. That was on full display when Thomas tallied nine catches for 77 yards on 11 targets last week. That’s absurd from such an affordable player, especially since Atlanta allows the second-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends.

Dallas Goedert (TE – PHI): $6,200 at NYJ
Nobody is going to use Goedert at $6,200. People don’t realize that tight ends trounce this terrifying Jets defense because their secondary locks up the wide receivers. That’s clear since they’re surrendering the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends, which is incredible since Goedert gobbled up a season-high 22 FD points last week!
Defense/Special Teams
DraftKings
Chicago Bears D/ST: $2,500 vs. MIN
Finding a worthy D/ST at just $2,500 is difficult, but we have a sneaky suspicion here. The Vikings just lost Justin Jefferson, and this struggling team could become a disaster without the best wide receiver in the NFL. That makes the Bears a worthy D/ST punt play because the Vikings are only projected to score 23 points in this spot, and the Bears are just $2,500!
FanDuel
Atlanta Falcons D/ST: $4,100 vs. WAS
The Commanders have been a disaster recently, surrendering the second-most fantasy points over the last four weeks. That’s scary in a game like this because the Falcons are a 2.5-point home favorite in a game with a 42-point total. That means we could be looking at a gross game, but it’s not like Atlanta’s 10th-ranked defense is too bad, either!
