We don’t measure the success of this article on the plays. What’s more important is predicting who the most rostered players will be. We did that perfectly last week because David Montgomery and De’Von Achane were in almost every lineup out there. We usually tend to fade those guys in most tournaments, but avoiding them in cash games was nearly impossible.
The picks this week aren’t quite that easy, but we have a good read on who the most rostered players will be.
NFL Week 6 DFS Cash Game Lineup Advice & Picks
The players below are the ones I’m looking at for cash game considerations for Week 6:
Quarterbacks
DraftKings
Justin Fields (QB – CHI): $7,300 vs. MIN
Everyone saw Fields go crazy the last two weeks, and he’s likely to be rostered everywhere in this matchup. He was the leading scorer in fantasy in the second half of last season and has 33 DraftKings (DK) points in back-to-back outings. That alone would make him highly rostered, but facing a 22nd-ranked Vikings secondary is simply a bonus!
Joe Burrow (QB – CIN): $6,100 vs. SEA
We’ve been waiting to see signs from Burrow, and the perennial Pro Bowler showed them last week. He had 27.4 DK points in his best game of the season and should do that plenty from here on out. A home matchup with Seattle should keep him on track, with the Seahawks surrendering the third-most passing yards in the NFL.
FanDuel
Kirk Cousins (QB – MIN): $8,000 at CHI
Some people might be worried about Cuz without Justin Jefferson, but people will still use him in this matchup. Chicago is surrendering the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season, and Cousins is still one of the league leaders in pass attempts and air yards. He’s also too cheap at $8K and will still be rostered a ton, even without JJ.
C.J. Stroud (QB – HOU): $6,900 vs. NOS
It’s wild to see Stroud below $7K. This rookie has been putting up historical numbers for the Texans, averaging nearly 18 FanDuel points per game. That’s scary since this kid is getting better every day, and he will be rostered a ton on FanDuel at such a diminished price. New Orleans isn’t a great matchup, but this game is expected to stay close.
Running Backs
DraftKings
Travis Etienne (RB – JAC): $7,100 vs. IND
Etienne struggled through the opening month, but he went off in London. The Jags rusher scored 39.4 DraftKings points last week and is nearly up to 20 fantasy points per game. That’s the stud we expected to see, and you know he’ll be rostered heavily in a home matchup with the Colts. Indy owns a 20th OPRK against opposing running backs this year!
Raheem Mostert (RB – MIA): $6,400 vs. CAR
Mostert will be in every lineup on DraftKings, and rightfully so. He’s one of the league leaders with 22 DK points per game but has been splitting work with De’Von Achane. That’s amazing because Achane is expected to sit here, leaving Mostert with all the work for Miami. That doesn’t even consider that the Dolphins are a 14-point favorite, with Carolina surrendering the second-most fantasy points to opposing backs. This is chalk you’re going to have to swallow.
FanDuel
Christian McCaffrey (RB – SF): $10,300 at CLE
McCaffrey is a cash game option on every slate. He’s leading all rushers with 25 FanDuel points per game, scoring a touchdown in every game this year. The running back for the best team in football is tough to fade, especially since Mac has been the best player in fantasy numerous times throughout his career.
Alvin Kamara (RB – NO): $7,500 at HOU
Why is Kamara just $7,500? This guy has taken over the Saints backfield in the absence of Jamaal Williams, averaging over 16 FanDuel points per game. That’s incredible since he’s been limited, but 22 carries last week means he’s ready for a full workload. That’s bad news for Houston, allowing the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs since the start of last season.
Wide Receivers
DraftKings
Ja’Marr Chase (WR – CIN): $8,300 vs. CIN
People aren’t going to fade Chase after what we saw last week. The top three pick in season-long leagues scored 55 DK points in one of the best games we’ll see all year. That’ll have him in a ton of lineups, especially in this spectacular matchup. Seattle is surrendering the most fantasy points to opposing receivers this season.
DJ Moore (WR – CHI): $6,500 vs. MIN
This price is ridiculous. After what he did last week, Moore should be at least $7,500, scoring 52 DraftKings points in a nationally televised game. That followed up a 30-point gem, and nobody will fade Moore at this questionable price tag. We didn’t even discuss the matchup, with Minnesota allowing the second-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts.
FanDuel
Cooper Kupp (WR – LAR): $8,700 vs. ARI
It was exciting to watch Kupp return to action last week. He set historical numbers the last time we watched him, and seeing him collect eight catches for 118 yards on 12 targets in his debut is a welcoming sign. He’s been the highest-priced player in the past, and he’s only fourth in salary on FanDuel. That makes him intriguing against Arizona, allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing receivers.
Jordan Addison (WR – MIN): $6,700 at CHI
Don’t be surprised to see Addison as the highest-rostered receiver on this slate. This rookie has been impressive in his debut season, scoring at least 14 FanDuel points in three of five games. He did that damage despite Justin Jefferson posting absurd numbers, and it’s scary to think how much Addison will be fed with JJ missing this game. Not to mention, Chicago is surrendering the most passing yards in the NFL.
Tight Ends
DraftKings
Kyle Pitts (TE – ATL): $3,500 vs. WAS
People want to get excited about Pitts, and you know DFS managers will roster him after his best outing of the season. The former top-five pick provided seven catches for 87 yards on 11 targets. We’ve been waiting to see that, and Pitts would be nearly $2,000 too cheap if that sort of role continues for the remainder of the season.
FanDuel
TJ Hockenson (TE – MIN): $6,700 at CHI
It’s going to be hard to fade TJ on FanDuel. He’s not even the highest-priced tight end, which is ridiculous because he will be the focal point of this Minnesota passing game. Missing Jefferson is massive for Hockenson’s value, and it’s impossible to avoid him since Chicago is allowing the most passing yards in the NFL. Don’t be surprised to see Hock average double-digit targets as long as Jefferson is out.
Defense/Special Teams
DraftKings
Miami Dolphins D/ST: $3,500 vs. CAR
It’s mind-blowing that Miami is only sixth in salary over on DraftKings. That will have them as the go-to D/ST in everyone’s lineup, facing a winless Carolina team. Miami enters this matchup as a 14-point favorite, with the Panthers projected to score a slate-low 17 points.
FanDuel
San Francisco 49ers D/ST: $5,000 at CLE
It’s easy to pay up for D/STs on FanDuel because there’s more salary to be allocated. That means people will roster San Fran as the most expensive option because they’re not much higher than anyone else. They’ve also established themselves as one of the best defenses, which is terrifying since Cleveland allows the third-most fantasy points to opposing defenses.
