Week 8 brings us a plethora of options as we have zero NFL teams on bye. Due to that fact, we must adequately stack the correct games to move forward, score maximum points and build leverage against our opponents. At first glance, some games seem to be a “lock.” However, this article will show you unique ways to stack games and build your lineup to help line your pockets with extra cash in Week 8.
NFL DFS Week 8 Stacking Advice & Picks
An under-the-radar fact about this game is an already porous Carolina Panthers defense is now struggling with injuries, specifically in their defensive backfield. The Houston Texans should also have a hyper-targeted wide receiver duo due to Robert Woods dealing with an injury. Combining these facts gives you a ceiling-level performance for Stroud, Collins and Tank Dell. C.J. Stroud has been tearing up the NFL this season as he produces fantasy points weekly for your lineups.

Combining these facts gives you a ceiling-level performance for Stroud, Collins and Tank Dell. C.J. Stroud has been tearing up the NFL this season as he produces fantasy points weekly for your lineups.
Stroud has the 14th-highest passer rating on passes traveling 0-9 yards. He is 18th best from 10-19 yards traveled downfield. However, his bread and butter is 20+ yards, as he ranks second in the NFL (behind a small sample of Mike White).
Leaning into this game with two teams that aren’t the “sexy” picks should build leverage while creating the ability to maximize your fantasy points within your lineup.
Bonus Add On
You can if you want to play Miles Sanders (if active) for a HULK-level stack. Miles Sanders has seen 100% of the carries inside the five-yard line for the Carolina Panthers. With Twitter in a frenzy over Chuba Hubbard, you can leverage a low rostership percentage while saving on your salary limitations. When it comes to running back, you either pay up for talent while eating chalk or, in this instance, find cheap value.
Did you cringe a little bit reading this section? On the surface, we couldn’t blame you, but we need to dig a bit deeper. The first part of Kenny Pickett that allows us to add him to our play pool is his price. On DraftKings, he is beneath $5k, allowing us to pay up elsewhere for some of the significant players in Week 8. The Jacksonville Jaguars have allowed the most completions, second-most passing yards and fifth-most passing touchdowns to quarterbacks.
They also allow the eighth-most rushing yards to the position and the fourth-most fantasy points per game. At his price within this matchup, we could see Pickett having to produce to keep pace with Jacksonville.
Speaking of Jacksonville, this will be a Calvin Ridley week. Yes, Christian Kirk will get his. However, we are building leverage and attacking the Steelers at their weakest point, covering outside wide receivers. Let’s break down how they have handled outside wide receivers this season:
Calvin Ridley will be utilized and outperform his pricing on DFS platforms due to facing the Steelers’ defense that allows the second most points per game to the wide receiver position in Week 8.
Let’s splurge a little, shall we? We deserve nice things, and the nicest things will come from CMC and Ja’Marr Chase in a battle of two high-scoring offenses. We have a caveat with this game: Brock Purdy suffers from a concussion. However, this does not affect CMC. CMC has had 15 or more carries in every game but one. He has also seen three or more targets in every game, with three of those games reaching five or more targets. If Brock Purdy is in, consider CMC business as usual.
However, if we have to turn to Sam Darnold, expect even more of the offense to flow through their star running back. He is expensive, yet that will keep his rostership percentage lower, allowing you to get the best running back with some leverage attached to his name.
Ja’Marr Chase is facing a solid San Francisco 49ers defense. However, their Achilles heel is stopping wide receivers. This season, the SF 49ers defense has allowed the league’s third most receptions to wide receiver. They have also allowed the 10th most receiving yards to wide receivers. With Ja’Marr Chase standing at six feet tall and hitting our 200-pound marker for wide receivers, Chase has the chance to explode any week, specifically in Week 8 against this struggling defensive back room in San Francisco.
Lamar Jackson has been the”Guy” in 2023. Jackson is second in carries, which elevates his fantasy floor every week. He is second in red zone carries per game and first in rushing yards per game. Jackson also has the second most rushing touchdowns for a quarterback. Lamar Jackson is the true definition of the Konami Code. With starting quarterbacks cheaper across the slate in Stroud, Pickett and even Darnold, DFS managers can create massive leverage by paying up in a matchup that Lamar Jackson should thrive in.
Jackson faces an Arizona Cardinals defense that allows the seventh-most passing yards in the NFL. They also allow the fourth most passing touchdowns and tied for the second-most rushing touchdowns allowed to quarterbacks. Arizona’s defense is one we have targeted all season because they allow the sixth most fantasy points per game to the quarterback position.
We stack Zay Flowers with Lamar Jackson, as his price baffles us on DFS slates. The Arizona Cardinals defense allows the third-most receptions(tied for third) to wide receivers, the most receiving yards, and tied for the third-most receiving touchdowns allowed. With the Cardinals allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position, we can stack and exploit this defense to our DFS gain and build an optimal lineup around these Baltimore Ravens stars.
