My cash game piece was one of my better articles of the season. We loved the Chiefs stack against the Chargers, which ended up being the optimal lineup in DFS. I was just short of a major cash, but it has me ready to keep rolling this week.
NFL DFS Cash Game Lineup Advice & Picks (Week 8)
The players below are the ones I’m looking at for cash game considerations for Week 8:
Quarterbacks
DraftKings
Jalen Hurts (QB – PHI): $8,200 at WAS
Hurts is nearly guaranteed a rushing touchdown in every game. That’s what he’s been doing, and it’s made him a top-three quarterback since the start of last season. That makes him one of the safest cash game options out there behind his 24-point average, facing a Washington team surrendering the third-most fantasy points to opposing signal-callers. When they played less than a month ago, Hurts had 27 DraftKings (DK) points.
Lamar Jackson (QB – BAL): $8,100 at ARI
Lamar is playing some of the best football of his career, culminating with a season-high 38 DK points last week. His rushing ability gives him that massive upside, and it’s paired with one of the highest floors in the NFL. That makes him impossible to fade against Arizona, allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.
FanDuel
Patrick Mahomes (QB – KC): $9,000 at DEN
Mahomes hasn’t showcased the MVP upside we’ve seen in the past until he dropped 35 FanDuel (FD) points last week. That sort of upside has been common for this guy throughout his career, and he’s also established a 20-point floor as well. His biggest asset here is the matchup with Denver, posting a 29th opponent rank (OPRK) against opposing quarterbacks.
C.J. Stroud (QB – HOU): $7,400 at CAR
This rookie looks as refined as any veteran in the NFL. Stroud has scored at least 14 FD points in five straight outings, averaging nearly 20 FanDuel points per game in that span. That’s quite the opening month from a rookie, and it will likely continue against Carolina. The Panthers allow 31 points per game, the second-worst mark in the NFL.
Running Backs
DraftKings
Christian McCaffrey (RB – SF): $9,200 vs. CLE
Not much needs to be said here. It’s been a year since McCaffrey hasn’t scored a touchdown, leading the NFL with 26 DraftKings points per game. Mac has also scored at least 14 DK points in every game, dropping 23 or more fantasy points in all but two outings. Cleveland is a concerning matchup, but it doesn’t matter since McCaffrey is the safest player in DFS right now.
Isiah Pacheco (RB – KC): $6,100 at DEN
We had Pacheco in this section a few weeks ago against Denver, and we’re going right back to him. The Broncos are having a historically bad season, surrendering the most fantasy points to opposing running backs. That’s awesome with how Pacheco has been performing, scoring at least 13 DK points in five straight outings. Not to mention, KC is a 7.5-point favorite and should get Pacheco a few goal-line carries.
FanDuel
Saquon Barkley (RB – NYG): $8,100 at NYJ
Saquon is the second-highest-priced back on DK, but he’s sixth on FanDuel. That’ll have him rostered everywhere on FD because he should never be that low when he’s healthy. Barkley is just shy of an 18-point average across his last three outings and should slice right through the Jets. New York owns a 22nd OPRK against opposing rushers this season.
Kareem Hunt (RB – CLE): $7,000 at SEA
It’s going to be tough to avoid Hunt on this slate. This guy has seen his workload expand over the last two weeks, averaging 15 FanDuel points per game in that span. That would make him an exciting option, but he’ll be rostered by everyone since Jerome Ford is out. That means Hunt will get all the work he can handle, which is incredible since Seattle has a subpar defense.
Wide Receivers
DraftKings
AJ Brown (WR – PHI): $8,000 at WAS
Everyone saw Brown go nuts on Sunday Night, and it’s wild he didn’t see a massive price increase on DK. He’s got at least 22 DraftKings points in five straight games and is the highest-scoring receiver in that span. That makes it hard to believe he’s outside the top three in salary, especially against Washington. Brown had 42 DK points against them just a few weeks ago.
Jordan Addison (WR – MIN): $5,700 at GB
Here’s another bizarre price. This price was set before his Monday Night masterpiece, collecting 34 DK points in that career night. The big night is no surprise since he’s being asked to do so much with Justin Jefferson out, and he should continue to see a massive boost with the best receiver in the NFL sidelined.
FanDuel
Tyreek Hill (WR – MIA): $9,500 vs. NWE
Hill is just like McCaffrey. These two are dominating the sport right now, with Hill leading the position with 23 FanDuel points per game. He’s also scored at least 20 FD points in five of seven games, establishing himself as the top target in the best offense in the NFL. New England isn’t as scary of a matchup as it used to be, missing numerous key players in their secondary.
Christian Kirk (WR – JAC): $7,000 at PIT
Everyone thought Ridley was the guy in this offense, but it’s proven to be Kirk yet again. That’s what we saw last season, with Kirk scoring at least 11 fantasy points in six straight outings. Not many people can match that floor, and it should continue since he’s regularly being targeted 5-10 times a game. The matchup is the icing on the cake, with Pittsburgh surrendering the third moist-fantasy points to opposing wideouts.
Tight Ends
DraftKings
Mark Andrews (TE – BAL): $6,400 at ARI
It’s wild to see Andrews this affordable. He’s been the second-best tight end in the NFL over the last five years and is only second because of Travis Kelce. This stud is second at the position with 16 DraftKings points per game, scoring 22 DK points last week. It’s not like Arizona is a problematic matchup, ranked 26th in total defense.
FanDuel
Travis Kelce (TE – KC): $9,000 at DEN
Kelce will be in this section every week that he’s on the main slate. He had nearly double the fantasy points of any other tight end last season and is leading the league with 17 FanDuel points per game this year. That’s rough for the worst defense in the NFL, with Kelce collecting nine catches for 124 yards against Denver just a few weeks ago.
Defense/Special Teams
DraftKings
New York Jets D/ST: $4,000 at NYG
It was strange to see the Jets outside the top three regarding salary at the D/St position. This New York defense is near the top of the league in every defensive category and couldn’t have much of a better matchup here. The Giants are surrendering the third-most fantasy points to opposing D/STs, with the Jets entering this matchup as a 2.5-point favorite in a game with a 38-point total.
FanDuel
Kansas City Chiefs D/ST: $4,500 at DEN
The Chiefs have allowed 20 or fewer points in every game this season and have one of the best D/STs in the NFL. That’s not something we expected at the beginning of the season, but it makes them a heck of a value at $4,500. They scored a season-high 14 FD points when they faced Denver a few weeks ago, but that’s far from surprising since Denver has been a disaster on both ends of the ball.
