Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 9 (2023)

Welcome to our weekly fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 9 of the 2023 season. There were some dramatic changes in Week 8 that could lead to one of the most interesting waiver wire moves of the year. Let’s review the players who analyst Tera Roberts is targeting.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 9

Khalil Shakir (WR – BUF)

– Coming off a strong Week 8 performance, Shakir caught all six of his targets for 92 yards.
– With Dawson Knox out, Shakir stepped up and played a bigger role in the offense.

Rashid Shaheed (WR – NO)

– Shaheed continues to be a valuable deep-threat receiver, capable of big plays with limited targets.
– Despite only receiving three targets in the latest game, he made all three catches count.

Demario Douglas (WR – NE)

– Douglas has shown impressive production, surpassing the likes of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Devonte Parker.
– While his overall stats may not be eye-popping, he has a favorable opportunity with the Patriots’ upcoming pass-friendly schedule.

James Conner (RB – ARI)

– Currently on the IR, Conner is set to return in Week 10.
– In his absence, Emari Demercado is still worth rostering.

Will Levis (QB – TEN)

– Levis had an impressive Week 8 performance, completing 19 passes for 238 yards and 4 touchdowns.
– He has favorable upcoming matchups against Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, and Jacksonville.

Derek Carr (QB – NO)

– Carr is a high-volume quarterback with a talented receiving corps, making him a solid streaming option.
– He has consistently thrown for over 300 passing yards and has been healthy throughout the season.

Trey McBride (TE – ARI)

– McBride is a solid option at tight end, particularly with a favorable matchup against Chicago.
– Consider picking him up if you’re in need of tight end help.

Sam Howell (QB – WAS)

– Howell had a bounce-back performance in Week 8, accumulating over 30 fantasy points.
– He offers rushing upside and can be a valuable streaming option, albeit with some risk.
