Fantasy Football Trade Advice: Tony Pollard, Zack Moss, Austin Ekeler, Josh Jacobs

Winning the trade market is at least as important as nailing the draft. Aside from the waiver wire’s massive impact in the season’s first few weeks, trading is the best way to improve your squad quickly. Great buy-low moves can set you up for victory in the short term and down the stretch. Solid sell-high deals can get you big hauls for overachieving players who likely won’t sustain their production.

Here are all players experts plan to buy and sell this week. Belowe we dive into a few notable trade candidates. And be sure to check out our weekly trade value chart with updated values for all players.

Fantasy Football Trade Advice: Week 5

Josh Jacobs (RB – LV)

Josh Jacobs is my favorite buy-low candidate at this point in the season. He got off to a slow start after missing most of the off-season, but Jacobs looks like he is getting back to his fantasy productive self after a slow start the first three weeks. This week five matchup is a juicy one for Jacobs, who takes on the Green Bay Packers, who allow the sixth-most points to opposing fantasy running backs. This will likely be the last week you can capitalize on the early season frustrations that Jacobs managers experienced. I would look to target Jacobs with a Brian Robinson straight-up or a two-for-one deal like Marquise Brown and Dameon Pierce.”

Austin Ekeler (RB – LAC)

“I would be buying low on Austin Ekeler. We haven’t got word yet that he is ready and fully back after the week five bye. I think he was on the right track to be back if the Chargers had a week five game. Ekeler will continue to have top-five potential in fantasy. I would look to see if the manager with Ekeler is struggling, and they may need to make a move. I’d look to see if you could move De’Von Achane or a combo of DJ Moore and Brian Robinson to get Ekeler.”

Zack Moss (RB – IND)

“While the uncertainty around Colts’ RB, Jonathan Taylor, is anything but resolved, it does crater my perceived value moving forward for Zack Moss. I will be the first to admit that I was wrong and didn’t see the Moss FAAB as a worthy investment. Hopefully, you can take his RB8 returns and strike it rich. I would be looking to get someone along the lines of Joe Mixon or Rhamondre Stevenson.”
Nate Marcum (Fantasy In Frames)

“My favorite sell-high candidate right now is Zack Moss. Moss has been great filling in for Jonathan Taylor, but it seems likely that Taylor is back soon. I’d try to capitalize on the uncertainty with Taylor to an RB-needy fantasy manager that needs a fix this week.”
Robert Norton (Last Word On Sports)

Tony Pollard (RB – DAL)

“Don’t get me wrong, Tony Pollard is a very good player. But the question posed to me was, who is your favorite sell-high candidate? Few players are valued higher than Tony Pollard right now. Injuries to the Cowboys’ offensive line, as well as a tough schedule, are reasons enough for me to try and unload Pollard for a haul. Ideally, I’d try and trade Pollard for a package of players I like. (For example, Tony Pollard for Isiah Pacheco, Jameson Williams, AND Jaylen Waddle or Tony Pollard for Isiah Pacheco, Jameson Williams, AND Anthony Richardson.) However, if a package deal wasn’t possible, then maybe a one-for-one swap. For ex. Tony Pollard for Bijan Robinson.)”
