Fantasy Football Tight Ends Streamers & Waiver Wire Targets (Week 8)

Fantasy Football Tight Ends Streamers & Waiver Wire Targets (Week 8)

The tight-end position matters greatly in fantasy football. They are not as flashy as their blazing-fast, route-running counterparts at wide receiver. They also do not get the same volume of touches as fantasy-relevant running backs. That can sometimes lead to them being overlooked or treated as an afterthought. Do not make that mistake.

The tight-end pool is the shallowest of them all in terms of fantasy. Finding production there on a weekly basis can be incredibly challenging, especially for those who did not invest in one of the top TE options during their drafts.

How might one find success at the position? Well, one way can be by carefully playing the waiver wire week-to-week. The goal of this weekly article is to help fantasy managers do just that by finding low-rostered (under 75%) TEs in the best situations for that particular week.

Tight End Waiver Wire Options for Week 8

Rostered Percentages based on Yahoo! Leagues as of Oct. 24

Dalton Kincaid (BUF) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 43% Rostered

The big game finally came for Dalton Kincaid. The first-round rookie caught all eight of his targets for 75 yards this past Sunday in a surprising road loss to the Patriots. Those marks set new personal bests, and interestingly enough, Kincaid was returning to the field after missing Week 6 due to a concussion. With fellow Buffalo TE Dawson Knox (wrist) already “doubtful” for Thursday’s matchup against the Bucs, Kincaid is one to roll with this week.

Dalton Schultz (HOU) at Carolina Panthers: 57% Rostered

Dalton Schultz is coming off a bye week, which is why his rostered percentage has not soared already. Heading into the Texans’ bye, Schultz had found the end zone in three straight weeks, totaling 14 receptions on 20 targets and averaging 56 yards per game in that span. C.J. Stroud has various options at his disposal, and Tank Dell should return from injury, but the rookie QB is regularly looking Schultz’s way, particularly in the red zone.

Gerald Everett (LAC) vs. Chicago Bears: 25% Rostered

Speaking of red-zone options, Gerald Everett has seen three targets inside the 20 over the last two weeks, coming up with two of them for a pair of touchdowns.

Everett is not a high-volume play, but as a TD-dependent streamer, he is an upside-streaming option in the Chargers’ eighth-ranked passing offense. No defensive unit has given up more receptions to opposing tight ends (45) than that of the Bears.

Tyler Conklin (NYJ) at New York Giants: 6% Rostered

Is this really a road game for Tyler Conklin and the Jets? Aside from the mid-field logo, not really. The Giants have not been particularly susceptible to opposing tight ends, but they did surrender a touchdown to the position in Week 6 before allowing Commanders’ TE Logan Thomas to go for 51 yards on four grabs this past Sunday. That total seems like a reasonable expectation for Conklin this week. The Jets’ TE has hauled in at least three passes in each of the last five games while reaching 50 or more yards on three occasions. QB Zach Wilson has targeted Conklin 5.2 times per game during that stretch.
