Fantasy Football Injury Outlook: Jerome Ford, Jaylen Waddle, Dawson Knox (Week 8)

We survived yet another week in which most of the big names did not suffer any significant injuries. Guys like Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and Austin Ekeler all suffered injuries but returned to their games with what appeared to be no limitations.

As always, this article is an estimate and educated guessing on injuries and timelines based on limited information. Monitor practice reports for the most solid information throughout the week. Here are all of my injury takeaways for the week. Below we dive into a few notable players.

Injuries To Know for Week 8 Waiver Wire

Jerome Ford (RB – CLE)

Ford suffered what is being called a low-grade low ankle sprain. This is good news, as he will likely miss a week or two and return without significant performance decline.

Kareem Hunt scored two TDs in Sunday’s game, so I expect he will be a popular waiver pickup if he’s available. However, Pierre Strong actually ended up leading the backfield after Ford exited. It’s possible that Hunt and Strong will have a much more equal workload than most expect.

Jaylen Waddle (WR – MIA)

Waddle suffered a back injury in Sunday night’s game. It appeared to be either a muscle strain or spasms. Although he returned, it’s possible this injury continues to tighten up on him during the week. This is likely a short-term injury, so there’s a possibility he plays next week, but don’t be surprised if he misses a week or two with this.

Dawson Knox (TE – BUF)

It was reported on Monday evening that Knox will undergo wrist surgery. It’s unclear at the time of this article which type of surgery he is going to have. Wrist surgeries can have a wide range of outcomes. Knox will most likely miss a decent amount of time, which makes Dalton Kincaid an incredible add if he is on your league’s waiver wire.
