Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) not practicing Wednesday

Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) is not participating at Detroit’s practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Gibbs is still managing a hamstring injury and is not participating at Detroit’s practice on Wednesday. He couldn’t play last week because of it, and HC Dan Campbell said that he’s still day-to-day for the time being. This isn’t optimal for his Week 6 outlook, but if practices later this week, he will still have a chance to play in Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.

Justin Jefferson (hamstring) officially placed on IR

The Vikings have officially placed Justin Jefferson on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury. He will be out for at least four games.

Fantasy Impact

Jefferson suffered a hamstring injury in Week 5’s loss to the Chiefs and is now being placed on injured reserve. He will be out for the next four games at the very least, and he could possibly miss more time beyond that depending on how his recovery goes. This is a devastating blow for fantasy managers, as he was a consensus top-three pick in most drafts before the season. His extended absence will negatively affect the fantasy value of QB Kirk Cousins but could lead to more opportunities for K.J. Osborn and rookie Jordan Addison moving forward.

De’Von Achane (knee) not expected to miss entire season

De’Von Achane (knee) is not expected to be out for the entire season.

Fantasy Impact

Achane was placed on IR early on Wednesday because of a knee injury that he suffered in Week 5, but HC Mike McDaniel told reporters that ‘it’s fair’ to say that the rookie will be back this year. This is a good sign that he avoided a catastrophic injury, but it still doesn’t tell us much about when he’ll be back. Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. will both get more work in this backfield for the foreseeable future.

Deshaun Watson (shoulder) not practicing Wednesday

Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is not practicing on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Watson has been dealing with a bruised rotator cuff since Week 3 vs the Titans. Even after the Week 5 bye, it doesn’t look like Watson is making a ton of progress toward a return. His status for Sunday is still not 100% certain, but not practicing Wednesday doesn’t help his chances. PJ Walker is likely to start if Watson can’t take the field vs the 49ers.
