Brock Purdy enters league’s concussion protocol Wednesday
According to 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan, QB Brock Purdy has entered the league’s concussion protocol, putting his status for Week 8 against Cincinnati in doubt.
Fantasy Impact
Purdy reportedly began experiencing concussion symptoms on the team’s flight home from Minnesota and is now in the league’s protocol. With the 49ers bye week just around the corner in Week 9, the team will most likely be careful with their young QB. If Purdy cannot clear the protocol by Sunday, the Niners will turn to former third-overall pick Sam Darnold to lead them against the Bengals. It is hard to see the San Francisco weapons falling too much in the rankings with Darnold under center, but it is fair to say there is more variability in their projected outputs.

Aaron Jones (hamstring) does not practice Wednesday
Aaron Jones, who played last week despite battling a hamstring injury, was held out of Wednesday’s practice as HC Matt LaFleur said Jones’ hamstring is “a little bit sore.”
Fantasy Impact
Jones has not been healthy since suffering a hamstring injury in the third quarter of the Packers’ Week 1 win over Chicago, and it seems the injury is still a hindrance. Hamstrings can be tricky, and Jones’ lingering injury this late into the season raises concerns about his ROS production. With the Packers struggling, Jones could be shelved sooner rather than later if drastic measures need to be taken. In the meantime, managers relying on him this week will have to hope the veteran RB gets back to practice on Thursday or Friday.

Roschon Johnson (concussion) still in protocol, will practice Wednesday
Roschon Johnson (concussion) will participate in Wednesday’s practice session.
Fantasy Impact
johnson has still not fully cleared the league’s concussion protocol, but he will get in some activity during Wednesday’s practice and be evaluated again afterward. D’Onta Foreman has been impressively carrying the load for the Bears’ backfield over the last two games, but, with Khalil Herbert (ankle) still out, Johnson would add some needed depth if he can return this week.

Kareem Hunt (thigh) not practicing Wednesday, expected to play Week 8
Kareem Hunt (thigh) will not participate in Wednesday’s practice session.
Fantasy Impact
Hunt was listed as “questionable” headed into this past Sunday’s game due to the same thigh issue. He then proceeded to rush for 31 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 10 carries. Hunt is expected to play in Week 8 and should see plenty of work with Jerome Ford likely sidelined.
