11 Fantasy Football Bold Predictions: Week 7 (2023)

It’s time for weekly bold predictions. The point here is that if you follow the consensus, you’re probably going to have a good team. But in order to go from good to great, you have to take some chances. You have to do your homework and figure out where you can zig when the rest of your league (or at least your opponent this week) zags. In short, you need to know how and when to be bold.

We asked our analysts to provide a bold prediction for Week 7. Their answers and justifications are below.

Fantasy Football Week 7 Bold Predictions

What is one bold fantasy prediction (player related) for the upcoming week and why could it happen?

Brian Robinson coasts to an RB1 finish this week with 120 rushing yards and a pair of scores. This is a beautiful bounceback matchup for Robinson. Among 53 qualifying backs, Robinson ranks 18th in explosive run rate, 30th in missed tackles forced per attempt, and 18th in yards after contact per attempt (per Fantasy Points Data). New York has given up the fifth-highest explosive run rate, the ninth-highest yards after contact per attempt, and the sixth-highest yards per carry to zone runs (Robinson 67.5% zone). In what should be a close game, look for Washington to feed Robinson in Week 7.”
Derek Brown (FantasyPros)

Drake London goes for 100+ receiving yards and scores a touchdown against the Buccaneers. Fantasy managers have been wary of London ever since his Week 1 shutout, but since Week 2, he’s been WR16 in PPR fantasy scoring, averaging 8.4 targets, 5.2 receptions and 65.8 receiving yards a game over span. London gets a promising Week 8 matchup against Tampa Bay, which has allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to wide receivers.”
Pat Fitzmaurice (FantasyPros)

Michael Mayer will score his first NFL touchdown and finish as a top-6 tight end in Week 7. Brian Hoyer is likely to be back at quarterback for the Raiders in week 7 and he will rely heavily on safe, short targets. This will give Mayer an opportunity he has yet to see. Add in Davante Adams struggling through a lingering shoulder injury, and Mayer could see himself becoming the reliable check-down option for the Raiders this week. His breakout is coming, stay tuned.”
Aaron St Denis (The League Winners)

Rashee Rice finally has his breakout performance and totals over 100 receiving yards in Week 7. The rookie wide receiver had 72 receiving yards on only four targets last week against the Denver Broncos. According to Fantasy Points Data, Rice accounted for 23.5% of the team’s receiving yards market share, a career-high. Furthermore, he was deemed open or wide open on 72.2% of his 18 routes last week. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers have surrendered 220.8 receiving yards per game to wide receivers, the most in the NFL. Rice will take advantage of the matchup and have a career performance against the division rivals.”
Mike Fanelli (FantasyPros)

Luke Musgrave is the overall TE1, taking on the Denver Broncos. No team in the league gives up more fantasy points to tight ends. The Broncos just got torched by Travis Kelce, but they also gave up 60 yards to Tyler Conklin in Week 5 and 85 yards and two TDs to Cole Kmet in Week 4. Musgrave caught six of seven targets in Week 5 and should be even more involved coming out of the team’s bye week. The Top 5 might be his floor in Week 7.”
Ryan Weisse (Club Fantasy FFL)

Rookie breakout alert. Three words. Jaxon Smith-Njigba. It’s happening. The rookie WR saw 5 targets (2 red-zone targets) while seeing a usage bump in Week 6. Tied Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf for the team lead in routes run (81%). Was a season-high snap share (72%). Posted a season-high in receiving yards (48). This could be the week he finally breaks out versus the Arizona Cardinals defense that ranks 3rd in most fantasy points allowed to slot WRs this season. Pete Carroll said himself… ‘The best is yet to come.'”
Andrew Erickson (FantasyPros)

Mark Andrews will have at least 8 receptions and 120 yards against the Lions this week. Andrews has been solid but not elite this season, sitting 9th in targets and receptions to the position. Not only is this arguably the game of the week, but the Lions are allowing over 130 yards, 11.3 receptions, and 16.9 fantasy points per game to the position. Since the Ravens are hard to predict in the red zone, and the Lions have done a decent job of keeping TEs from scoring, I’d rather bank on Andrew’s yards and receptions for Week 7.”
Ellis Johnson (RotoBaller)

Christian Watson finally has the breakout game we’ve been waiting for. He was one of my favorite WRs heading into the season and started off the year hurt. He’s finally back fully healthy and should play a full complement of snaps and routes and the matchup against the Broncos is juicy. Watson goes for 125 yards and a score in this one!”
Robert Norton (Last Word On Sports)

Rachaad White will finish OUTSIDE the Top 30 fantasy RBs in Week 7. White is ECR’s RB19 in half-PPR scoring formats this week. Wait, what? White has finished as the RB38, RB39 and RB36 in three of his five games this season and has now seen consecutive week DECREASES in his overall snaps and routes. More importantly, however, is that White’s Week 7 opponent (Atlanta) ranks in the top four in both PFF run defense and ESPN’s run stop win rate metric. The Bucs, on the other hand, rank 28th in PFF run blocking and DEAD LAST in ESPN’s run block win rate. This is the worst run-blocking matchup by far of all 26 teams playing in Week 7, and in a game where the Falcons should run the clock and reduce overall play volume, White should be nowhere near your starting lineups. Bet his under on rushing yards, put him firmly on your bench, and walk away. The only way he delivers any value is by lucking into a goal-line touchdown this weekend, and that’ll be tough to come by with Tampa Bay projected for just 19.75 points, according to the Vegas spread.”
Christopher Dell (Betting Predators)

In Week 7, the top QBs and 4 of the top 12 WRs will come from the Sunday night game between the Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Eagles. This game is going to be a shootout! Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts will be QB1 & QB2 and Tyreek Hill will be the top wide receiver this week, followed in the top 12 by A.J. Brown, Jaylen Waddle, and DeVonta Smith. This game is in prime time for 2 of the best offenses in the league who will shine in the spotlight. *Bonus* There could also be two top 12 running backs from this game in Raheem Mostert and D’Andre Swift!”
Adam Dove (The Fantasy Couriers)

A.J. Brown finishes as a top 3 WR. Look, there is no doubt that this Dolphins-Eagles matchup on Sunday Night Football is going to rule. Do you know who else rules? A.J. Brown, who has been absolutely cooking this season. The last 4 weeks, Brown has not finished lower than WR13, and he has at least 8 targets with 127 REC yards in every last contest. The only place Brown has not lived up to standards yet is in the touchdown department. Brown has a monster day Sunday Night for the Eagles, going for over 10 catches for 130 yards and a touchdown in an Eagles victory over the Dolphins.”
