Will Puka Nacua Play in Week 2? (2023 Fantasy Football)

Week 2 has arrived! Unfortunately, the injury watch for fantasy managers is also here. Players who appear on the Friday injury report and haven’t practiced much during the week can often lead to trepidation for managers trying to make lineup decisions and/or waiver claims. Don’t fret, though – FantasyPros is here to provide you with all of the latest news and updates on the players who are questionable heading into the weekend.

Puka Nacua surprised many fantasy managers with his WR15 finish in Week 1 and was the most sought-after free agent on waivers in most leagues. He popped up on the injury report late in the week heading into Los Angeles’s matchup with San Francisco. Will Puka Nacua play in Week 2?

Puka Nacua (oblique) limited Friday, expected to play

According to team reporter Stu Jackson, Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua will be limited in practice Friday, is listed as questionable for Week 2 and is expected to play, according to HC Sean McVay.

Fantasy Impact

Nacua popped on the injury report on Thursday with a DNP. The expectation is that he plays, though a mixture of a poor matchup (San Francisco 49ers) and the injury could hamper him in Game 2. Tutu Atwell could see an increased role.

What the Experts Are Saying

My man. The myth. The legend. Puka Nacua. He played an altered Cooper Kupp role in Week 1. Nacua soaked up a 39.5% target share and 42.9% first-read target share while playing 70% of his snaps on the perimeter. Nacua was seventh in receiving grade and fifth in yards per route run. Deny his talent all you want. Trust me, I heard everyone clapping back about him all offseason, but now Puka has shown you what he can do. You don’t earn this type of volume without being a VERY talented player. Nacua is a WR2/3 that will run about 70% of his routes against Charvarius Ward (58.5% catch rate and 89.8 passer rating allowed in 2022) and Deommodore Lenoir (67.3% catch rate and 84.0 passer rating allowed last year). Nacua has been listed as questionable (oblique), but he’s expected to play.
