Will Miles Sanders Play in Week 4? (2023 Fantasy Football)

Week 4 has arrived! Unfortunately, the injury watch for fantasy managers is also here. Players who appear on the Friday injury report and haven’t practiced much during the week can often lead to trepidation for managers trying to make lineup decisions and/or waiver claims. Don’t fret, though – FantasyPros is here to provide you with all of the latest news and updates on the players who are questionable heading into the weekend.

Miles Sanders is in line for a great matchup against the Vikings’ 24th-ranked rush defense, but he popped up on the injury report with a groin injury early in the week. The question now is: Will Miles Sanders play in Week 4? Here’s what we know.

Miles Sanders (groin) listed as questionable for Week 4

Panthers RB Miles Sanders (groin) is listed as questionable for Week 4 against Minnesota.

Fantasy Impact

Sanders was limited in practice this week due to a groin injury. The veteran spent most of the preseason dealing with a groin injury that has appeared to flare back up. Fantasy managers should expect Chubba Hubbard to start if Sanders cannot suit up against the Vikings.

What the Experts Are Saying

Sanders has played 57-65% of the snaps weekly, averaging 17.7 touches and 69 total yards. Sanders is seventh among backs in routes run while also seeing a 14.0% Target share (fifth) and the most targets among backs (tied). Sanders has been soaking up volume in all phases, but he’s been woefully inefficient with it. Among 59 backs with at least ten carries, he is 36th in explosive run rate, 53rd in missed tackles forced per attempt, and 48th in yards after contact per attempt. Temper your expectations for Sanders this week. Minnesota is not a pushover run defense. They have held backs to the fifth-lowest explosive run rate, the seventh-lowest yards after contact per attempt, and the eighth-lowest missed tackles allowed per attempt.
