Week 3 has arrived! Unfortunately, the injury watch for fantasy managers is also here. Players who appear on the Friday injury report and haven’t practiced much during the week can often lead to trepidation for managers trying to make lineup decisions and/or waiver claims. Don’t fret, though – FantasyPros is here to provide you with all of the latest news and updates on the players who are questionable heading into the weekend.
Joe Burrow has been dealing with a calf injury since early in the preseason, and he has struggled through the first two weeks of the season. The 26-year-old was limited in practice for most of the week, so now the question is: Will Joe Burrow play in Week 3?

Joe Burrow (calf) limited at practice Friday
Joe Burrow (calf) was limited at Cincinnati’s practice on Friday.
Fantasy Impact
The team wants to be careful with Burrow’s recovery, so he was limited at practice on Friday. They want him to be ready to play for Monday, but it sounds like there’s a slight chance that he will have to miss that game and nurse the injury. We won’t get clarity on this until sometime in the next couple of days, but his possible absence would have devastating effects on all Cincinnati skill-position players against the Rams.
What the Experts Are Saying
This is a true judgment call. We’d lean slightly towards him playing Week 3 but re-injury risk is the key. Given a “tweak” following a strain, that risk is relatively high right now (~20%). Each week of rest lowers it, but the unfortunate reality is that it would take ~6 weeks to substantially lower it down to <10%. With the Bengals already 0-2, we’re not sure they have the luxury of time.
