Will Jerry Jeudy Play in Week 1? (2023 Fantasy Football)

Week 1 is finally here! Unfortunately, the injury watch for fantasy managers is also here. Players who appear on the Friday injury report and haven’t practiced much during the week can often lead to trepidation for managers trying to make lineup decisions and/or waiver claims. Don’t fret, though – FantasyPros is here to provide you with all of the latest news and updates on the players who are questionable heading into the weekend.

Jerry Jeudy suffered a non-contact hamstring injury early in training camp and did not practice for a few weeks. He returned to practice on Wednesday and is officially listed as questionable on the injury report. Will Jeudy play in Week 1? Here’s what we know.

Jerry Jeudy (hamstring) questionable for Week 1

Jerry Jeudy (hamstring) is questionable for Denver’s Week 1 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Fantasy Impact

Jeudy suffered a hamstring injury in a joint practice a couple of weeks ago that will leave him questionable for Sunday’s game. His recovery is going quicker than most expected, and he’ll now have a chance to suit up for the team’s home opener against the Raiders. If he is inactive, fantasy managers can expect rookie Marvin Mims to get more work in his absence.

What the Experts Are Saying

TBD. Data rates Jeudy 60% chance of playing. If active, he does so with relatively high re-injury risk (~20-25%) and projects to have a moderate (~15%) explosiveness dip. By Week 2 – if he avoids re-injury – our data projects a 90+% player.

Initial diagnosis of Jeudy’s hamstring injury painted a grim picture of his availability in Week 1. Don’t hold your breath hoping he makes a quick return where he can be placed confidently in lineups come Sunday morning.
