Week 1 is finally here! Unfortunately, the injury watch for fantasy managers is also here. Players who appear on the Friday injury report and haven’t practiced much during the week can often lead to trepidation for managers trying to make lineup decisions and/or waiver claims. Don’t fret, though – FantasyPros is here to provide you with all of the latest news and updates on the players who are questionable heading into the weekend.
George Kittle has been dealing with injury since early in training camp. The primary issue currently is his groin, which held him out of practice until Wednesday, when he returned. He was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report, so now we ask: Will George Kittle play in Week 1? Here’s the latest.

George Kittle deemed questionable against Steelers
The San Francisco 49ers are listing TE George Kittle as questionable for their Week 1 contest with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fantasy Impact
Kittle has dealt with a groin injury that kept him limited in practice all week, but his status gives promise to his availability for Week 1. His situation should be monitored for an official statement on whether or not he will play. He has an ECR of half-PPR TE5.
What the Experts Are Saying
TBD. Lean towards playing. While performance impact tends to be relatively low, Kittle’s history, in combination with this most recent injury (which itself is actually a re-aggravation of a training camp injury), makes him a very high (~25%) risk player the rest of the season. Would have little hesitation to start him if active each week, but may try to move him in season-long formats.

A groin injury has left Kittle’s status in question for week 1, so you’ll have to monitor his status throughout the week. Kittle has some huge games, so it would be hard to leave him on your bench if he’s active. But Kittle’s target counts can oscillate wildly, and the injury raises the risk of a dud game if he’s able to suit up. Should Kittle miss this game, no San Francisco TE would be worth your consideration.
