Braxton Garrett: 29.5 Fantasy Points – Higher
Garrett has done his best work on the road this year. According to FanGraphs, the 26-year-old lefty has a 2.52 ERA, 3.07 xFIP, 1.03 WHIP, 4.7 BB% and 24.0 K%.
Garrett has an OK matchup and decent betting info, too. The Mets are 21st in wRC+ (95) and have a 22.0 K% versus lefties in 2023. New York is also 13th in wRC+ (105) in the previous 30 days but has a 24.0 K%. Finally, per Betting Pros, the Marlins are -130, and the game’s total is only 7.5 runs.
Jorge Soler: 7.5 Fantasy Points – Higher
Soler smashes left-handed pitching. In 365 plate appearances against lefties since 2021, he’s swatted 32 homers with a .347 OBP, .343 ISO and 146 wRC+.
The matchup isn’t too shabby, either. Joey Lucchesi has allowed a .337 wOBA to 149 righties this year.
Edouard Julien: 7.5 Fantasy Points – Higher
The Athletics still haven’t announced a probable starter, but multiple outlets project Paul Blackburn. So, Julien will face a righty at home, and that’s been a recipe for success. In 157 plate appearances against righties at home this year, Julien has hit eight homers and eight doubles with a .446 OBP .281 ISO and 182 wRC+.
Blackburn is also a plus matchup for the rookie second baseman. He’s yielded a .377 wOBA to 109 lefties on the road this year.
Mitch Garver: 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs – Higher
Garver is a lefty-killer. In 250 plate appearances against southpaws since 2021, Garver has mashed 12 taters with a .380 OBP, .227 ISO and 142 wRC+. He’s also attached to a loaded offense that smashes lefties. So, he should have ducks on the pond. Finally, Angel Stadium has hitter-friendly park factors.
Yordan Alvarez: 8.5 Fantasy Points – Higher
Alvarez is a firebreathing giant with the platoon advantage on the road. In 155 plate appearances against righties on the road this year, Alvarez has hit 16 bombs with a .465 OBP, .451 ISO and 229 wRC+. It would be nice to have a better matchup tonight, but he can destroy any righty and frequently has.
