Francisco Lindor: 8.0 Fantasy Points – Higher
Lindor had a down year at the dish against southpaws in 2021. However, he’s been excellent against them since last year. According to FanGraphs, in 387 plate appearances against lefties since 2022, Lindor has hit 22 homers with seven stolen bases, a .328 OBP, .227 ISO and 130 wRC+.
The switch-hitting shortstop has also excelled on the road this year. In 329 plate appearances on the road in 2023, Lindor has hit 15 homers with 17 stolen bases, a .351 OBP, .246 ISO and 135 wRC+.
The matchup is good, too. Braxton Garrett has coughed up a .351 OBP, .533 slugging and .376 wOBA to 242 righties faced at home this year.
Pete Alonso: 8.0 Fantasy Points – Higher
Alonso can also benefit from tonight’s matchup. Furthermore, he’s had better numbers against lefties than Lindor. In 531 plate appearances against lefties since 2021, Alonso has mashed 37 taters with a .348 OBP, .293 ISO and 135 wRC+.
The slugging first baseman has also smashed on the road. In 307 plate appearances on the road this year, he has hit 24 dongs with a .346 OBP, .332 ISO and 142 wRC+.
Aaron Judge: 9.0 Fantasy Points – Higher
Judge is a lefty-killer. In 426 plate appearances against lefties since 2021, he’s hit 37 bombs with a .389 OBP, .338 ISO and 174 wRC+.
The gigantic slugger also has a stellar matchup tonight. Yusei Kikuchi has allowed a .339 wOBA to 263 righties on the road this season.
William Contreras: 1.5 Total Bases – Higher
Contreras is another hitter with excellent splits against lefties to appear in this space. In 310 plate appearances against southpaws since 2021, Milwaukee’s catcher has hit 16 homers, 20 doubles and one triple with a .332 batting average, .593 slugging and .261 ISO.
Contreras doesn’t have a challenging matchup tonight, either. Rookie lefty Drew Rom has ceded five doubles, one triple, two homers, a .308 batting average and .474 slugging to 90 righties this season. The most significant concern about this selection is Rom’s lousy control and Contreras’s willingness to take a walk.
Zac Gallen: 5.5 Strikeouts – Higher
Gallen is an ace and pitches to the peak of his powers at home. In 90.2 innings at home this year, Gallen has a 2.18 ERA, 2.63 xFIP, 4.0 BB%, 107 strikeouts, 10.62 K/9 and a 30.5 K%. Gallen has struck out more than 5.5 batters in 11 of 14 starts at home this year.
The matchup tonight is ideal for adding to his strikeout ledger. San Francisco has the eighth-highest strikeout rate (24.1 K%) versus righties in 2023. The Giants are tied for the fourth-highest strikeout rate (26.0 K%) on the road this year. Finally, the G-Men have had a 22.1 K% in the previous 30 days.
